“You can understand it this way, host.”
“Little assistant, what abilities do you have? Those people with systems on TV seem very powerful. Can you help me become strong?”
Song Jinshi held onto the handrail of the stairs, cautiously moving forward.
“Host, hurry back to your room!”
Song Jinshi was startled by the sudden elevated voice of the little assistant and immediately turned around, running back desperately.
With a slight tremor in his voice, Song Jinshi asked, “Is there something there?”
Before the little assistant could respond, his face turned pale.
Under the eerie green glow of the words “Emergency Exit,” a sticky tentacle wrapped itself around the delicate, slender ankle of the little pastry.
Song Jinshi, terrified, called out for the little assistant in his mind, but it felt as if the assistant had vanished into thin air, offering no response.
Having never encountered any supernatural phenomena since childhood, the sensation on his foot was driving Song Jinshi to the brink of panic.
“Woo woo woo, don’t hold onto me, let me go, I’m begging you.”
With his face pale, Song Jinshi tightly shut his eyes, fearing the sight of something terrifying.
However, his pitiful pleas did not cause the creature to relent; instead, the grip on his foot tightened even more, even seeming to pull upwards.
Gathering his courage, Song Jinshi ran forward with all his might, but due to the binding on his ankle, he fell flat on the ground.
Tears of helplessness slipped from the corners of his eyes, and whimpers echoed through the corridor.
“Tap, tap, tap…”
The sound of polished shoes striking the floor came from a distance.
For Song Jinshi, it was as if he had heard salvation; his eyes suddenly lit up, wanting to call for help from the person who had just appeared.
“Help—”
Before he could utter even one word, the creature’s tentacle covered his mouth.
With hope shining in his eyes, Song Jinshi gazed towards the indistinct figure not far away, longing for rescue.
Yet, the person merely stood still and didn’t take another step forward.
He could vaguely sense that the person was looking at him, but there was no sign of intent to save him.
The light in Song Jinshi’s eyes dimmed; he began to regret not listening to Song Yanchi, regretting his sneaky escape.
Thinking this way only made his heartache more.
Unbeknownst to him, at some point, the monster released its grip on his mouth.
“Woo woo woo, Brother Yanchi, save me. I promise I will never disobey again.”
The little prince, who had always been sheltered within the pyramid by Song Yanchi, thought of him first when in danger.
“Heh.”
In a daze from crying, Song Jinshi thought he heard an eerily familiar, cold voice.
“Brother Yanchi.”
Struggling to lift his tear-streaked face, he wanted to see the man standing before him amidst the thick darkness.
However, in the man’s eyes, this situation held a completely different meaning.
The little prince, who had been raised in a warm, safe nest, now felt vulnerable and was pitifully pleading for help.
Perhaps, he only needed to use a little trick; the foolish little prince would even willingly offer his pure, untainted body.
Just thinking about this made the man’s blood boil.
Song Jinshi seemed to sense the man’s burning, morbid gaze, making him shiver slightly in fear.
“Little one, your body isn’t well yet; why did you sneak out again?”
Confirming that the figure before him was Song Yanchi made Song Jinshi visibly relax.
“Brother, please save me, there’s a monster.”
Song Jinshi sniffled pitifully.
Song Yanchi paused upon hearing this, then slowly walked to Song Jinshi, crouching down gently. His cold, elongated hand brushed against the enticingly flushed cheek.
“Little one, where’s the monster? I don’t see it. Can you tell me where it is?”
Song Jinshi detected the slight hoarseness in Song Yanchi’s voice, but he dismissed it as just the chill of the wind.
“It’s wrapped around my ankle and blocked my mouth!”
Without reservation, Song Jinshi recounted his ordeal to the man, desperately wanting to shrink into his embrace.
Song Yanchi’s hand moved lower, softly pressing against his alluring, rosy lips.
“But Little One’s mouth seems just fine. I don’t feel anything blocking it.”
Song Jinshi felt like Song Yanchi didn’t believe him and quickly grabbed his hand, placing it on his monster-bound ankle.
The moment he felt the cold touch, Song Jinshi’s foot reflexively pulled away.
For a fleeting second, he felt that Song Yanchi’s hand touching his ankle felt similar to that monster’s.
“Little One, where’s the monster? Are you having another episode? You don’t have to lie to me; if you want to be touched and caressed, I will definitely satisfy you.”
Song Yanchi’s voice was husky, with a cloudy gaze.
If Song Jinshi could see Song Yanchi’s face, he would surely notice the distinctly non-human pupils and the eyes narrowed with pleasure.
But at that moment, Song Jinshi merely gazed vacantly at Song Yanchi, then reached down to touch his own ankle.
How could this be? That monster had just been wrapped around him.
Otherwise, why did he fall earlier?
Song Yanchi gently ruffled his fluffy head, “Are you having another episode because you missed Brother too much and are seeing hallucinations? There are no monsters in this world.”
Song Jinshi nuzzled against Song Yanchi’s palm obediently, his gaze dazed yet clear, completely unaware that Song Yanchi might deceive him. “Is that really so?”
“When have I ever lied to you?”
Song Yanchi was delighted by Song Jinshi’s obedient response, unconsciously swallowing hard as his pale hand lifted his chin.
