After saying all this, the man left again.
“Host, shouldn’t we change into something else? Your safety is the most important.”
Song Jinshi sighed and finally succumbed, pulling out the outfit from under the blanket.
Once he changed, he stood awkwardly by the bed.
“Assistant, is this skirt too short?”
—“Not short, not short! I think it’s too long!”
—“Wife looks so good in a skirt! Your ears look adorable.”
—“I love my wife’s tail, heehee, when can she grow a real tail?”
Song Jinshi looked at the comments and tugged at the hem of his skirt, “I’m human, I won’t grow a tail.”
A few minutes later, the door opened, and a short man accompanied by several intimidating figures stepped in front of Song Jinshi.
“Come with me.”
The leading short man’s beady eyes fixed on Song Jinshi.
Clearly, these people were there to prevent him from running away midway.
“Host, don’t be afraid. If there’s any special situation, I will grant you some special permissions.”
Song Jinshi followed the group as they took the elevator down to the first floor.
On the first floor, there was a massive platform with seats below.
When Song Jinshi arrived, he found himself in a back-stage area.
There were many men and women dressed in similar skirts to his.
Each person’s outfit was different but designed with some kind of animal as reference.
The event started amid the noise.
“Everyone, I believe you all understand our rules, so without further ado, let’s get started.”
After the person on stage finished speaking, two individuals brought a girl dressed in a rabbit costume onto the stage.
“Lot number one, priced at 10 intermediate cores.”
As bidding began, one by one, individuals were sold.
Soon, it was Song Jinshi’s turn.
After he was brought onto the stage, the venue erupted into noise.
“Old Wang, this isn’t moral! You had such good merchandise and didn’t say anything earlier. Now everyone has spent their cores, and you produced a beauty—everyone is unhappy!”
“Haha, Mr. Zhang, we didn’t provide any prior notice; no one knew what kind of merchandise would come up.”
“Just quote a price! Stop talking nonsense.”
Some people in the audience were already eager to bid.
“Alright, since everyone is so anxious, I won’t keep you in suspense. This last one, priced at 10 advanced cores.”
Once this was said, the crowd’s voices grew more intense.
“This price is too high!”
“Yeah, obtaining advanced cores is not easy; asking for this much is a bit outrageous.”
Many voices in agreement wanted the price to be lower.
“20 advanced cores.”
A voice pierced through the crowd.
“Who? This beauty is indeed lovely, but twenty cores is hardly worth it. Who is so extravagant?”
“Just know that twenty advanced cores are enough to cultivate an advanced ability user.”
“Whoever can afford twenty advanced cores must come from a decent family; there’s no need to discuss further.”
“True, that voice sounds unfamiliar, probably a high-ranking person or a family member of an advanced ability user.”
“I won’t compete; I’ve already bought one before; let someone else have this.”
Unlike the previous bidders, no one behind Song Jinshi continued to quote; the proceedings concluded smoothly.
Afterward, several individuals led Song Jinshi to the top floor of the hotel.
“Inside is your buyer, who will become your master in the future.”
One of them knocked on the door twice.
“Come in.”
The cold voice coming through the door sounded somewhat unclear.
Song Jinshi paused upon hearing it; that voice sounded a bit familiar.
The person pushed him into the room and closed the door.
Once inside, Song Jinshi did not see his buyer. He stood cautiously at the entrance, gazing inside.
“Is anyone there?”
After a long pause, Song Jinshi quietly asked.
He had clearly heard a voice from inside while standing outside.
“Come here.”
The voice came from the bathroom, slightly muffled by the door, carrying an indescribable tone.
Song Jinshi followed the sound and eventually reached the bathroom door.
“Excuse me, are you in there?”
He knocked on the door.
“Mm, come in.”
Song Jinshi stood at the door, feeling somewhat flustered, “You’re showering, so I can’t come in.”
The person inside did not respond. After a moment, Song Jinshi heard the sound of slippers on the marble floor.
The bathroom door opened before him.
In that moment, Song Jinshi instinctively lowered his head, not daring to look at the person in front of him.
“Raise your head.”
Song Jinshi tugged at the hem of his skirt uncomfortably and shook his head, “No peeking.”
“Ha.”
The person chuckled lightly.
“I thought you didn’t dare to raise your head.”
Before Song Jinshi could respond, the comments exploded.
—“Wife! Quickly raise your head!”
—“Hurry up! Wife! It’s a white-haired handsome guy!”
—“Wife, please, raise your head, sob sob sob, damn live streaming platform, why can’t I post his name.”
Song Jinshi looked at the comments in confusion.
Why were they urging him to look up? Did he need to recognize the man in front of him?
After a brief moment of doubt, Song Jinshi decided to raise his head; after all, viewers could see him, indicating that the person in front should be dressed.
He looked up at the person in front of him.
