The director hurriedly explained that their show certainly featured real ghosts to reassure them. However, deep inside, he hoped that the person hired to play the ghost would be professional enough not to be discovered.
Before the show started, the director briefly introduced the situation to the guests. The villa they were in was supposedly haunted, and Mr. Song had been troubled by this matter for several days. He had finally found them, hoping they could solve the mystery. After summarizing, the show officially began.
“Mr. Song, can you describe how you found out that the villa is haunted?” asked Zhao Yi, the oldest and most seemingly knowledgeable guest, who appeared to be a master in supernatural matters.
Song Jin-shi had already gathered information about this scenario through his assistant and clearly explained his situation to Zhao Yi.
“A few nights ago, I woke up in the middle of the night to get some water. As I went downstairs, I felt someone breathing on my back, but when I turned around, there was nothing there.”
“At that moment, I didn’t pay much attention. What truly made me think I encountered a ghost was one night when I was going to the bathroom. Before I even opened the door, I heard a sharp sound from inside, like nails scraping against the floor or glass – it was a very piercing sound.”
“I’m sure it wasn’t something a human could make.”
As he spoke, Song Jin-shi pretended to be scared and leaned back against the man beside him.
He Zhao furrowed his brow at the person leaning into his arms but remembered he had to play the role of him husband now, pulling back his hand that had wanted to push him away.
In truth, Song Jin-shi was not afraid at all because there were no ghosts; this was all prearranged by the director. The original character felt his husband didn’t like him, so he wanted to take this opportunity to win his affection. The director, eager for fame, agreed without hesitation, especially given the prominence of the original character’s husband.
After listening to Song Jin-shi, Zhao Yi quickly drew a conclusion. “The ghost should only appear at night. Since it’s still bright out, we should investigate the villa’s situation first.”
As Zhao Yi spoke, his gaze fell on the villa’s luxurious decor. The paintings hanging on the walls were all worth at least a million, not to mention the exquisite porcelain and other items.
He couldn’t help but feel jealousy rise in his heart, thinking, “Here I am, working so hard to make money, and I still can’t afford even one of those paintings. Why does Wei Xun get to have such a prestigious background?”
And he also gets to marry such a beautiful wife.
To be honest, Song Jin-shi was exceptionally good-looking, no wonder he married a man. Zhao Yi couldn’t help but wonder what pleasure the man found in bed.
He hadn’t touched a man in all these years; perhaps during the show, he might have a chance to try it out.
With this thought, Zhao Yi became excited, his gaze turning greedy as he stared at Song Jin-shi.
At that moment, he felt a chill wash over him. Although it was a hot summer day, he felt as if he were in the dead of winter, shivering all over.
Zhao Yi didn’t think much of it; after all, despite being a showman, he had some skills. Over the years, he hadn’t just been a con artist; he had genuinely caught a few ghosts. So, even if a real ghost appeared, he was confident he could handle it.
Maybe he could even use that chance to get closer to the beauty.
Soon, the five guests scattered around the villa, searching for clues. However, Zhao Yi didn’t act immediately.
He pretended to walk up to Song Jin-shi, cleared his throat, and feigned a profound expression.
“Mr. Song, based on your description, I think the ghost might have its sights set on you. So, you should stay with me tonight… this way, we can ensure your safety and lure the ghost out to catch it.”
Song Jin-shi thought Zhao Yi made a fair point, assuming he didn’t know the villa was not haunted.
But since he was already playing this role, he figured he had to stick with the guests since he was supposed to be the one troubled by the ghost.
He nodded, “Alright.”
Seeing Song Jin-shi’s reaction, Zhao Yi smiled even more.
“Mr. Wei is truly lucky to have such a beautiful wife.”
On the surface, Zhao Yi sincerely complimented Wei Xun, but inside, he was plotting on how to win over his wife.
Wei Xun ignored Zhao Yi’s flattery and turned to leave the hall for the study on the second floor.
Zhao Yi felt a little displeased by the snub and his expression darkened for a moment.
Everyone searched for a long time but found no useful clues. They ultimately decided to wait until nighttime to investigate further.
Thus, besides the guests and the five cameramen who stayed in the villa, everyone else left.
Under Song Jin-shi’s arrangement, they settled in a guest room on the first floor.
As night fell and it was time for bed, Song Jin-shi finally remembered his character.
Recalling the original personality, he went to the bedroom and changed into one of Wei Xun’s shirts.
The shirt barely covered his thighs, revealing his fair and straight legs.
As the study and bedroom were connected and the door was shut, Song Jin-shi wasn’t worried about being seen; he walked confidently into the study.
“Darling, it’s late. Aren’t you coming to bed with me?”
He stood in front of the man at the desk, nervously fidgeting with the tips of his pale toes on the ground.
The man didn’t respond to Song Jin-shi’s words.
Seeing this, Song Jin-shi reached out and tugged on the man’s sleeve, his doe-like round eyes fixed on him pleadingly.
“Hubby~”
Zhao swallowed visibly before finally raising his eyes to look at the person in front of him.
The clothes he wore were clearly oversized, belonging to his deceased husband.
He was wearing nothing on the lower half, and under his gaze, those legs slightly trembled.
