In the cramped apartment, forced into wearing an ill-fitting dress. The hem was so short that it might even expose some of the fleshy, snow-white thighs. The gaudy bright-colored dress might not suit him, but he would undoubtedly look stunning in it. It was the kind of alluring beauty that could captivate, even if he himself had no such intention.
“Does he still not know?” Corey raised an eyebrow and asked, listening to Tang Zhen’s words.
“Only you act like a sneaky rat,” sneered the young man with platinum-dyed hair and piercings on his brow, mercilessly adding, “Keeping this in mind to savor it repeatedly?”
Corey’s disdain was apparent, looking down at Tang Zhen, whose eyes sparkled with amusement: “What do you want to achieve by saying it in front of so many people? To flaunt your perversion?”
“Or do you only dare to use this method to achieve your aims?”
The atmosphere was clearly stifled.
The hint of ambiguity created by Tang Zhen’s previous description had disappeared without a trace; this well-dressed group of contestants seemed to realize only now that the method of “hypnotizing contestants to complete tasks” was inappropriate. They frowned, belatedly showing their disapproval of such behavior.
The long-haired magician furrowed his brow and asked Tang Zhen, “Is there really no other way to complete this task? Must we use hypnosis tools?”
Dan Qi chimed in to echo the question.
Faced with their accusations, Tang Zhen remained unflustered. He had already retracted his earlier expression that described how he had lured the unfortunate contestant into changing into an ill-fitting dress, and now wore a gentle demeanor instead.
“Because of the character setup,” Tang Zhen explained succinctly, “I drew a dark, perverted character, and he is a new contestant with a very thin skin, who wouldn’t agree to my requests.”
That casual addition made his actions sound even more outrageous.
A newcomer to the escape variety show, with a thin skin and presumably not very bold, might have developed a bit of trust in Tang Zhen because of the added “lover” role, unaware that they were up against a dark pervert.
With a gentle smile, he used the hypnosis props and changed him into an ill-fitting dress.
Corey’s hostility towards Tang Zhen deepened, and he smirked as if to say something.
The magician Jiang Qi stepped in to mediate.
Although he didn’t recognize anyone at this long table, he keenly sensed something amiss.
For instance, how the excessively delicate and beautiful contestant numbered One had been “targeted” by other contestants from the moment he entered, needing to explain every word he said in detail.
It didn’t seem like the normal wariness between strangers but felt more like the unique anxiety that men exhibit during competition, fearing their chances would be overshadowed.
“Alright, task assessment complete.” Jiang Qi tapped the table, signaling the men who were in mutual disdain to shift their attention back to the spinning wheel: “Is it time for the next person?”
At his reminder, Corey reluctantly turned away.
Tang Zhen’s smile remained.
“I took too long,” he chuckled, his words vague: “After all, that script made me nostalgic.”
Jiang Qi paused in his rhythmic tapping on the table.
For some reason, the long-haired magician suddenly turned to Yan Chuan, smiling at the relieved black-haired youth: “Is that so? I think so too, but the contestant who drew the beautiful wife is rather unfortunate.”
His tone was clearly teasing, making the contestant in the first seat blush.
It seemed this magician was not trying to mediate at all but rather was mocking the “beautiful wife.”
Thanks to his words, everyone’s gaze shifted back.
Yan Chuan, who had been silent and pretending not to exist: …
How could anyone still remember him after all this time spent quietly looking down?
What was so nostalgic about that script!
Yan Chuan had seen through their ill intentions and frowned in annoyance.
“He’s unfortunate,” the handsome black-haired youth said, pursing his lips: “He wouldn’t want to be mentioned in other people’s conversations.”
With delicate brows knitted, his exquisitely soft features were shrouded in a thin mist, clearly not pleased.
“Please stop mentioning him.”
For the first time, the slender and beautiful black-haired contestant displayed such an unhappy expression, revealing his intentions to protect the “unfortunate beautiful wife.”
His gaze didn’t even pass over Tang Zhen’s face, looking directly at the contestant in seat number Six.
“What is your task?”
Contestant Six was Su.
This previously silent, expressionless figure was the dashing man who resembled the unfortunate husband, subtly raising his chin.
The pointer had just stopped spinning.
The man, with slightly darkened brows and eyes, read aloud the task displayed on the screen.
“The most unforgettable secret.”
Yan Chuan’s brow relaxed.
Well, at least it wasn’t something that sounded particularly pointed.
It wasn’t a dare or anything involving card props, and it probably wouldn’t involve him…
Suddenly, he remembered something.
The task didn’t matter; after all, Dan Qi could turn a task into forcing someone to kiss him; it mainly depended on the person.
Before him, Su…
Wasn’t he just the unfortunate husband in that script?
Yan Chuan felt he had never been so stimulated in his life.
He felt a bit dizzy.
At first, Su would say a few words, ask him questions, but as Dan Qi came out, he fell silent.
His silence was a bit frightening.
Clearly, his expression hadn’t changed much, yet one could still sense his bad mood.
