The spinning wheel was circular, divided into twelve segments, each a different color representing various tasks.
There were no words on it, evidently waiting for the pointer to stop at a segment for the task details to appear.
As the pointer continued to spin, Yan Chuan felt increasingly tense.
Unfortunately, he was the first to find out just how “special” the “special variety show” was.
Moreover, among the people at the table, four of them were “people he knew.”
In fact, he was quite familiar with these “people.”
Yan Chuan pursed his lips, his fingers unconsciously grabbing the white cloth on the long table, wrinkling a small corner of it.
Was his luck really this bad? How could he encounter acquaintances even here?
Yan Chuan unconsciously glanced at the others at the table, and when his eyes met Su’s, his heart skipped a beat.
Su’s eyes were the same, deep and cold, holding an indescribable meaning.
They resembled the gaze he received earlier, as if Su was about to say something sticky and uncomfortable.
Yan Chuan quickly averted his gaze.
To recognize each other here… especially with such an awkward situation, it would be better to avoid it.
Yan Chuan forced himself to focus on the spinning wheel.
Finally, the pointer stopped, landing on the blue segment.
The small screen beside them gradually displayed words.
“Truth or Dare: The selected contestant must describe their most recent overcoming experience.”
“Requirement: Please be as truthful and detailed as possible.”
Yan Chuan’s brows furrowed.
His most recent overcoming experience?
Did it mean he had to recount his experience in the script “Shut-in Island Prison”?
Yan Chuan pursed his lips.
But the screen did not give him much time to delay; a two-minute countdown appeared and began to tick down.
One minute fifty-nine seconds… one minute thirty seconds…
Yan Chuan’s brows knitted even tighter.
The other contestants at the long table also drew their tasks.
Some people saw the content on the screen and secretly rejoiced, while others wore frowns, looking troubled.
Yan Chuan was surely among the latter.
As the countdown approached its end, he would need to respond, regardless of whether he had adequately organized his thoughts.
Everyone at the long table was looking at him.
Yan Chuan could only harden his resolve and begin to speak.
The hall was tightly closed off, the chandelier above lit, casting fragmented shadows from the dangling crystal adornments.
The contestants wore various expressions.
The first unfortunate soul at the edge of the long table was a slender, beautiful young man.
With black hair and snow-white skin, his small face featured soft features, giving one the immediate impression that “this is a very beautiful person.”
His brows were delicate, and his eyes were slightly round, similar to apricot-shaped eyes, shining black and bright, giving off an innocent aura.
The corners of his eyes were slightly upturned, giving a hint of rose flush. Long dark lashes fell downward, and a quick glance from him somehow carried an almost flirtatious undertone.
He looked intently at everyone, his gaze clear.
Yet, his expression was slightly dazed, with pale cheeks, appearing naïve and slow-witted.
His light rose-colored lips were slightly pursed, almost shyly.
He had a slender frame, his delicate neck exposed. Compared to any man at the table, he seemed fragile and breakable.
This contradiction formed a peculiar, captivating kind of beauty that was hard to look away from.
“My previous script was ‘Shut-in Island Prison,'” a trembling voice began, the tone slightly muffled and soft due to nerves. “In the script, my identity was that of a thief imprisoned for stealing precious jewels. The main task was to escape from Shut-in Island.”
The beautiful youth glanced at the display screen and continued.
“On the first day, I encountered a routine inspection in prison, requiring me to strip.”
“The inmates who entered the prison with me were all watching, and the guards were urging me…”
His detailed yet bland narration strangely hinted at something else.
As contestants entered the script using their own bodies and faces, hearing him say this made one envision how this fragile, beautiful youth appeared in a prison scenario.
Undesirable NPCs surrounded him, demanding he undress for a “routine check.”
He would undoubtedly show a flustered expression, pursing his lips, unwilling to obey, nervously tugging at his clothes.
Everyone at the table was staring at him.
They wanted to see how this slender, beautiful youth would handle such a situation.
Would he helplessly strip off his clothes, or would he make some other choice?
Curious glances subtly fell upon him.
After a brief pause, Yan Chuan continued.
“I took off my top… and then I fainted from dizziness. The guards took me to the infirmary, where I met the doctor in the prison.”
“He asked who I would choose as my ‘support,’ who I could rely on for protection.”
Yan Chuan thought for a moment: “There was an inmate who became the new leader right after entering, who asked if I wanted to choose him as my support…”
“Shut-in Island Prison,” a title that sounded like a conventional escape script.
Contestants took on inmate identities, the task being to escape the prison while completing some side quests.
Generally, contestants would need to explore the prison’s secrets, identify weak points in security, and then successfully escape.
They would also likely encounter troublesome NPCs, dealing with them using their wisdom.
However, the overcoming experience recounted by this delicate, beautiful youth was entirely different.
He seemed to know his experience was a bit off, so he hesitated slightly while speaking, even pausing a few times to glance at others’ expressions.
Yet, his assigned task was to “accurately recount his overcoming experience.”
