Mentioning past reports, the newspaper finally began describing the background surrounding the prison. After the crew members admitted that the creatures on the deserted island had health benefits and could “extend life,” research institutions went to study the area. This was the precursor to the Closed Island Prison.
Yan Chuan could already guess what happened next. Missing children, some research later… the illegal experiments at the institute were exposed, the children were sent home, and the institute was transformed into the current Closed Island Prison. If one adds up Hesse’s age, it corresponds to this timeline.
There’s no coincidence in the script. If there is, it’s because he has overlooked some information. The sunlight was dazzling, and Yan Chuan shielded his eyes with his hand as he began to think. If the story were told from Hesse’s perspective, could it be summarized as a revenge plot in some sense? Growing up, would he then resolve the evils stemming from the Closed Island and the Closed Island Prison? It could certainly apply to the “monster” as well.
Yan Chuan recalled the name he saw signed on the experimental records, reduced to just a bare letter “L.” The initial letter of Lyon is L, but so is that of Leo. Could this be a coincidence? Yan Chuan blinked, his dark lashes casting a shadow on his snow-white cheeks.
Unfortunately, there was no one here to converse with; no matter how friendly the residents of the small town were, he still had to leave. He couldn’t participate too much in the script. Once Yan Chuan finished reading the newspaper thoroughly, not skipping even the most trivial news, it was nearly time to drink his coffee.
He finished a suitable cup of coffee, with just the right temperature and sweetness. Then Yan Chuan stood up, pressed the banknote beneath the saucer, smiled at the staff, and turned to leave. The young staff member was so dazzled by the smile that she didn’t even notice when some coffee spilled.
As the eastern beauty prepared to leave the café, the freckled staff member boldly called out to him, asking if he wanted any dessert. “Thank you, but no,” the eastern beauty responded, the curve of his lips deepening, “I’m leaving.”
A perfectly normal goodbye, indicating he was going home. But the staff member felt an inexplicable flutter in her heart and couldn’t help but ask, “Where are you going?”
Bright sunshine illuminated the slender, beautiful figure, outlining the eastern beauty’s delicate profile. She heard him say, “Back to my own world.”
The author has something to say:
The next world is a hotel horror night, and Yan Bao is the hotel owner~
In between, there will be a special variety show bringing together Yan Bao’s previous husbands~
Chapter 85: Special Variety Show 1
After the system’s settlement voice ended, Yan Chuan opened his eyes. He was still lying in bed in the room, and it was dusk. The setting sun’s rays spilled into the room, leaving shimmering golden spots on the floor, and the gauzy curtains fluttered slightly in the breeze.
Yan Chuan felt a bit dizzy as he sat up and paused for a moment, glancing at the time. It was exactly six o’clock in the afternoon. Four hours had passed since he entered the script.
After calculating, Yan Chuan discovered that the time in the script “Closed Island Prison” was slightly longer than the time he spent in the previous two scripts. The passage of time in the script and the real world is different; spending a week in the script equates to just one hour in the real world.
Yan Chuan lowered his eyelids. The sound of the script’s settlement still lingered in his mind.
“[Script: Closed Island Prison concluded, main mission: Escape from Closed Island completed; side mission completed.]
[Player ID 43786, script identity: A thief sent to Closed Island Prison for stealing expensive jewelry.]
[Role-play degree: 100%.]
[Task completion rate: 100%.]
[Achievements obtained: A beautiful little thief everyone wants, an eastern beauty with black hair, S-level little pity, not conflicting with already obtained achievements.]
[Additional achievement: Completing the incomplete background of the script, reward of 12,000 points.]
[Total points earned: 30,000; 70,000 points remain for target; please make further efforts, player 43786.]
Seventy thousand points remaining. Yan Chuan pondered for a moment.
Calculating based on a standard of 5,000 points per script, to achieve the needed 100,000 points under the premise of successfully completing all tasks, he would need to enter approximately twenty more scripts.
However, additional achievements do provide a points reward, and the quantities are significant. Meaning he now only has to earn seventy thousand points.
But achieving additional achievements isn’t easy. In “Closed Island Prison,” it is impossible to complete side mission three: completing the script’s background information solely based on information collected on Closed Island; the player must stick around.
Without obtaining clues from NPCs and being unable to escape the Closed Island via the supply boat, completing the task is impossible.
Of course, Yan Chuan only entertained a “let’s give it a try” mindset—if the side mission was uncompleted, he would leave the script; fortunately, he indeed saw news regarding the prison in the newspaper.
Yan Chuan rubbed his forehead.
He had been frowning increasingly often, mainly because of the NPCs in the script. From the false “husband” in the first script to Qi Yan, who said goodbye to him with a “see you again” in the second script, and that mysteriously informative Leo…
Yan Chuan felt that his experience of the script was quite different from others.
Do NPCs in the script have self-awareness? Do they retain memories of recurring in the script, and do they appear in other scripts?
The simple answer from both me and the forum strategies is no.
So why do they say phrases like “See you next time,” implying that he will return to completed scripts?
Yan Chuan displayed a somewhat distressed expression.
Just as he was deep in thought, the message notification pinged, “Ding ding.”
