Yan Chuan chose to align himself with the prisoners, planning to rebel against the prison in order to finally board a supply ship and leave. But where had the “monster” gone?
Yan Chuan’s brow furrowed. He didn’t know the answer to that question. No one dictated that a script could only have one boss, but the appearance of the “monster” was too strange. Yan Chuan had never seen what the “monster” looked like. He only remembered the cold, slippery sensation from that day in the abandoned room.
Unpleasant memories surged up, and Yan Chuan shook his head to clear his mind. “I’ll be out soon,” he said to the prisoners following him, “you can wait inside.”
The prisoners nodded in agreement.
Yan Chuan knocked on the infirmary door.
“Knock, knock.”
By the time he was knocking, Yan Chuan had calmed down. He couldn’t find the monster, but he was sure that it would come looking for him again. Moreover, he felt that “Leon” would also show up.
After a few knocks, the infirmary door opened.
The blond, blue-eyed doctor was dressed in his usual white coat, with the top button fastened, and his expression was solemn.
“It’s you.” Upon recognizing Yan Chuan’s face, the blond doctor changed his expression, raising an eyebrow and adding a hint of a smile to his eyes.
Yan Chuan nodded.
He pointed to the prisoners behind him to indicate his purpose: “I injured my knee, but Hesse wants them to follow me.”
Navi nodded knowingly.
Though he hadn’t been involved in the conflict between the prison and the prisoners, the commotion had certainly reached his ears. The term “follow” used by the Oriental beauty likely meant they were being kept under surveillance.
“Come in,” Navi said as he pushed open the door, addressing both Yan Chuan and the prisoners standing behind him. “I’ll take care of you now.”
Yan Chuan entered.
The furnishings here hadn’t changed, and it wasn’t as chaotic as outside; it remained just as it was the last time he visited.
“Have a seat.”
The infirmary wasn’t spacious; the only hospital bed was for Yan Chuan to sit on while he received treatment for his injury. The two prisoners assigned by Hesse obediently stood aside.
This was both supervision and a warning. It signaled to the Oriental beauty not to try to say anything unnecessary to the doctor and urged them to take care of matters quickly.
Yan Chuan sat on the hospital bed.
“Roll your pant leg up,” Navi said, putting on his glasses and taking disinfectant and cotton balls from the cabinet. “It might hurt a little.”
Yan Chuan nodded.
He rolled his pant leg up, slightly raising the injured leg, which Navi adjusted, resting it on his knee.
His slender, snow-white calf became visible, and the joints had a faint pink hue.
The calf was round, pressing against the edge of the hospital bed, the soft flesh creating a small indentation.
The lines were delicate and graceful, but there was a noticeable bruise on the snowy, tender skin, along with some minor abrasions that weren’t very apparent.
“It looks a bit serious,” Navi raised an eyebrow and asked in his usual tone, “How did this happen?”
Yan Chuan thought for a moment and replied, “I bumped it accidentally against the corner of the table.”
Navi responded with an acknowledgment, indicating uncertainty whether he believed him or not.
Yan Chuan wasn’t lying; he just omitted the fact that he had hurt himself while hiding, or when the prison warden had shoved him into a corner.
But Yan Chuan couldn’t divulge so many details to Navi at that moment.
“Hiss…” As the cold medication soaked through the cotton ball, Navi gently swiped it across the wound with tweezers, causing Yan Chuan to let out a low cry of pain.
Navi paused for a moment.
“Does it hurt a lot?” He adjusted his grip on the tweezers and worked even more gently. “Should I be lighter?”
Yan Chuan shook his head.
Navi was already being careful with the treatment, and it wasn’t so much pain as it was the necessary sensation when handling a wound.
“Don’t worry,” Yan Chuan glanced at the prisoners standing beside him and said softly, “Just finish quickly; I still need to get back soon.”
He didn’t explain why he needed to go back quickly, but his expression was displeased, and he didn’t seem very eager to return.
Navi raised an eyebrow.
He didn’t say anything else; he just made his movements even lighter.
Suddenly, there was another urgent knock at the door.
This time, the knocking was rather hurried, clearly indicating that the person outside was anxious. One of the prisoners furrowed his brow and went to open the door.
He was cautious, checking the peephole before opening the door.
After a brief exchange of conversation, his expression became agitated, and his eyebrows knitted together.
He briefed another person in low tones. Yan Chuan couldn’t clearly hear what they were discussing, but he sensed it was likely not good news.
“There’s a situation,” one of them simply relayed, turning to Yan Chuan and saying, “We have to leave for a while; we’ll come back later.”
Yan Chuan nodded, “Alright, but you guys…”
Before he could finish his sentence, the two hurriedly left.
Yan Chuan felt somewhat confused.
What could have happened that made them so anxious?
Could it be that something had occurred with Hesse?
Yan Chuan exchanged a glance with another person in the room.
“Them…” Yan Chuan frowned, revealing a worried expression. “What has happened?”
