“You just watch TV here and wait for me. If you’re going to work this afternoon, your clothes shouldn’t smell like smoke.” Fan Luojia really liked Yin Haidong’s attitude towards him today; it made him feel cherished.
He took Yin Haidong’s large hand off his head and held it with both of his own, “Brother Haidong, your hands are so big; I can barely hold them both.”
Yin Haidong’s fair skin contrasted with Fan Luojia’s slightly darker hands, making the color difference quite striking. Fan Luojia looked at that well-groomed hand, with long and strong fingers, and on impulse, he leaned down and gave it a kiss.
As soon as he did, he felt his face flush red, and in a fluster, he got up and hurried to the kitchen to cook.
Shuai Chang momentarily forgot to watch the news; instead, he stared at his own hand, his expression deepening.
An hour later, the meal was ready. Cold mixed fungus, sautéed baby bok choy, mu shu pork, and corn rib soup. All were home-cooked dishes, filling the air with a tantalizing aroma.
Shuai Chang felt a tug in his heart and went over to help Fan Luojia carry the dishes, but Fan Luojia skillfully dodged him and arranged everything neatly.
“Brother Haidong, you sit down.”
Finally, Fan Luojia brought over two bowls of rice, one large and one small, the contrast obvious.
As expected, a large bowl of rice appeared in front of Shuai Chang, wafting an enticing aroma.
Shuai Chang had been waiting for a long time and was quite hungry. He didn’t immediately pick up his chopsticks; instead, he frowned at the small portion of rice in Fan Luojia’s bowl.
Shuai Chang’s serious expression made Fan Luojia think he had done something to upset him; he trembled, afraid to pick up his chopsticks. “Brother Haidong…” he said softly, hesitantly.
“You’re eating too little.” He could understand when a woman ate less to lose weight, but how could a man survive on so little? Nutritional deficiency was very likely.
“I…” Fan Luojia wanted to argue that he was trying to maintain his figure for acting but suddenly remembered that he was no longer an actor. He bowed his head, feeling dejected and silent.
Shuai Chang wasn’t a mind reader; he couldn’t tell what Fan Luojia was thinking from a faint expression. However, he had a spirit companion that could answer many of his questions.
With the power released by his spirit companion, Shuai Chang realized that Fan Luojia was saddened by no longer being able to act.
“Luo Jia.”
Fan Luojia looked up, and Shuai Chang waved him over, pointing to his thigh, “Come sit here.”
Fan Luojia, momentarily forgetting his sadness, stuttered, “W-what?” His voice trembled with excitement.
“Come sit on my lap.” Shuai Chang coaxed, not allowing any refusal.
Fan Luojia couldn’t say no. He stood up and walked over to Shuai Chang. Shuai Chang pulled him down, and Fan Luojia fell onto his solid thigh.
Shuai Chang frowned as he assessed the weight on his leg. “You’re too light; eat more, okay?”
The warm breath brushed against Fan Luojia’s ear, and he felt his heart stop momentarily before starting to pound intensely. This feeling was something he had never experienced when he was with Yin Haidong.
Brother Haidong was… so charming!
Shuai Chang felt no fatigue from the soft warmth on his solid thigh as he watched Fan Luojia start to eat.
Later, finding him slow to eat, Shuai Chang simply wrapped his arms around Fan Luojia and started to feed him himself.
By the end, Fan Luojia covered his belly and turned back, his eyes looking pitiful. “Brother Haidong. I really can’t eat anymore; I’m full.”
Shuai Chang reached out and touched his belly, confirming it was indeed round. He nodded in satisfaction, “Go for a walk outside to digest. After I finish eating, I’ll come find you. You’ve been so good today, there’s a reward.”
Fan Luojia hesitated to stand up, reluctant to leave the warmth of Yin Haidong’s embrace, which gave him a sense of stability.
“Be obedient.” Shuai Chang, not understanding how much Fan Luojia wanted to linger, coldly lifted him off himself. Seeing Fan Luojia stand still, he gently patted him on the backside to encourage him.
Fan Luojia jumped in surprise, covering his backside and daring not to look back as he ran out of the dining room.
“He’s still so young,” Shuai Chang sighed, shaking his head at Fan Luojia’s energy, and slowly began to eat his lunch.
After finishing, Shuai Chang went to find Fan Luojia outside. He walked into the garden and saw Fan Luojia crouching in front of a group of flowers. Shuai Chang walked over, his footsteps clearly audible, but Fan Luojia was so engrossed that he didn’t notice.
Driven by curiosity, Shuai Chang squatted down beside him to see what had caught his attention.
A line of ants moving their home…
Tilting his head, Fan Luojia was captivated, his mouth slightly ajar. Shuai Chang could see his gleaming white teeth and the bright red tip of his tongue from the side.
Pressing his lips together, Shuai Chang’s deep voice broke the silence. “Do you like ants?”
Fan Luojia looked up at him, his surprise evident; his pupils gleamed.
“Brother Haidong, sorry, I got carried away watching.” Fan Luojia attempted to stand, but after squatting for a few minutes, his legs were numb, and his body swayed.
Shuai Chang wrapped one arm around his waist, helping him up effortlessly. “Go sit over there; I’ll give you a massage.” Children always needed adult supervision; if you didn’t watch them for a moment, they could end up awkwardly squatting for too long.
Feeling as if countless ants were crawling in his legs due to his previous folly, Fan Luojia didn’t dare face Yin Haidong.
“You’ve shown me a lot of things I’ve never seen before, and now you feel embarrassed?” Shuai Chang helped him sit down and raised one of his legs onto his own, slowly and forcefully massaging it.
He remained nonchalant, even joking with Fan Luojia as if touching the legs he had longed for, stirring deep excitement within him.
His heart raced, and his pupils narrowed. Ants crawled between their points of contact, causing Shuai Chang’s arm to feel numb and tingle due to their movement.
