This is no training ground; it resembles a camp for escapees.
After a month of intense training, the running speed of Shuai Chang’s squad of male beastmen has significantly improved, reaching a level where they can be said to be galloping ahead of others.
The beast tide has arrived.
The female beastmen have set up camp behind to timely provide energy supplies for their male partners, while the male beastmen gather on the battlefield. An hour later, with a command from the supreme commander, General Kane, the male beastmen use their claws, horns, and teeth to begin slaughtering the corrupted beasts.
Shuai Chang leads his ten-member team into the heart of the beast tide. The soldiers attract the corrupted beasts and then scatter, allowing Shuai Chang to harvest them in a massacre-like fashion.
When energy runs low, they eat a plant-based energy food. Quickly, Shuai Chang’s snow-white fur becomes soaked in the blood of the corrupted beasts. His pair of tiger-like eyes are shrouded in a murderous intent. From flipping ten with a single paw to terrifying twenty with a roar, Shuai Chang slaughters the corrupted beasts with ease, as if slicing melons.
He doesn’t keep all the kills for himself; he always leaves a few half-alive corrupted beasts for his team members to finish off. This motivates them further, as they only need to run to earn their kills, and as long as they run fast enough, there’s no danger to their lives. Is there any job simpler than this?
As the sun sets in the west, the corrupted beasts finally stop advancing and begin to retreat to the Dark Forest for rest.
Thanks to the corrupted beasts only attacking during the day, this gives them the time to rest.
The mad onslaught of the beast tide inevitably results in casualties. After counting at night, aside from Shuai Chang’s team remaining unharmed, other teams suffered various casualties, with some teams dwindling to just one second lieutenant and one soldier. Such combinations will face further difficulties in the impending slaughters. Many smaller teams choose to join forces for coordinated combat.
The team members report their counts to Shuai Chang based on the records from the surveillance cameras. Each member of Shuai Chang’s team has about two hundred kills.
A member with the body of a goat quietly asks, “Lieutenant, how many corrupted beasts did you kill today?”
Shuai Chang looks up and smiles, “Guess.” He hasn’t even had a chance to shower yet, with dried blood still clinging to his eyebrows. What he considered a gentle smile appeared full of murderous intent to others.
The goat replies, “… Five thousand?” Oh no, that’s terrifying; he shouldn’t have asked.
Fearing Shuai Chang’s displeasure, the goat deliberately overestimates, thinking four thousand in a day would be impressive enough.
Shuai Chang raises an eyebrow and shakes his head.
The goat thinks to himself, surely it’s less than five thousand.
“Thirteen thousand.” Shuai Chang states flatly.
“…… Wh-what?!” The goat’s eyes nearly popped out; thirteen thousand? How is that possible?!
“Next.” Shuai Chang pushes the dazed goat aside as the black bear comes up to report.
The goat feels impacted by this revelation. With their lieutenant’s daily count surpassing ten thousand, it’s evident that within a month, he could surely attain the rank of Marshal!
This is too surreal.
Thinking back to General Kane, a brilliant beastman who had achieved this rank at only twenty-nine after three years of hard work.
Second Lieutenant Adonis must be extraordinary! He’s only twenty this year; achieving the rank of Marshal at such a young age would have the entire beastman planet buzzing.
That night, the goat goes to sleep feeling excited. He believes his future is bright by following Shuai Chang.
After finishing recording the numbers, Shuai Chang stands up to wash at the riverside.
He shakes his wet hair when returning to the tent and is pulled inside by Anqi Luola.
Under the soft yellow light, Anqi Luola carefully checks Shuai Chang for any injuries, inspecting him from head to toe. Shuai Chang has likely not even lost a hair. Anqi Luola breathes a sigh of relief.
He’s been worried all day; other male beastmen return every two hours to replenish energy, but he has waited from morning until night without Shuai Chang coming back. Anqi Luola keeps reassuring himself that it’s because Shuai Chang has enough energy food, yet his heart remains uneasy, fearing something might have happened to Shuai Chang.
Today, many female beastmen left crying with their male partners; it was heart-wrenching to witness.
Shuai Chang hugs Anqi Luola with his bare shoulders, one-third of his weight pressing down on him, resting his chin on Anqi Luola’s frail shoulder. “Baby, I’m so tired! Please comfort me.”
Shuai Chang is purely lying; a glint of excitement flashes in his eyes. If another beast tide comes at night, he could possibly kill another twenty thousand, a record ample enough to make him an emperor.
But Anqi Luola can’t see that. Upon hearing Shuai Chang’s words, he immediately hugs him tightly, a bit flustered: “Let me provide you with energy?”
Sensing Shuai Chang nodding, Anqi Luola loosens his hold, lifts his head, and gently places his lips against Shuai Chang’s to transfer energy.
After finishing, Anqi Luola intends to leave, only for Shuai Chang to hold onto him tight, deepening the kiss until both are breathless before he finally releases. “Baby, I really regret not eating you at home.”
Anqi Luola turns red and looks away. “What are you saying? This is a military camp, and the tent has no soundproofing at all. How can we think about that here?”
Shuai Chang, being naturally gifted, doesn’t even have an appetite for food after an entire day of slaughter; he is only focused on his desires in every aspect.
Shuai Chang chuckles, “I know, baby. I won’t do anything to you here; just a little more patience for two months. But you need to be prepared for how to deal with a hungry tiger after that. I will slowly consume you, leaving nothing but the bones.”
Shuai Chang’s eyes shine brightly, and Anqi Luola trembles, “Meow~” instinctively transforming back into his original form.
Shuai Chang, surprised, picks up the little white cat on the ground. “Baby, is that you? Your original form is so cute!” It’s the first time he’s seen it.
“Meow~” It’s your fault for scaring me.
Shuai Chang replies, “Yes, yes, yes, it’s my fault. Whatever my wife says, goes.”
Anqi Luola, unable to transform back for now, is embarrassed as Shuai Chang embraces him tightly, making him shrink into a fluffy white ball, refusing to let Shuai Chang touch him no matter what.
