Song Jinshi ran toward the nearby woods. In the blink of an eye, Meatball’s figure had vanished. Worriedly, Song Jinshi looked at the direction where Meatball had gone. He succinctly refused Bo Yan’an and was about to set off in search of Meatball. However, before he could take a few steps, a small team emerged from the base.
“Stop!”
A cold voice came from behind him. Song Jinshi turned to look. What met his eyes was a tall man, wearing a familiar smile and those familiar gold-rimmed glasses.
“It’s you!”
Song Jinshi recognized him; he was the one who had bullied him not long ago—the culprit!
Pei Zhaoqing!
Song Jinshi glared at the man with fiery eyes.
“Host! We should run!”
“Don’t you remember? Although we’ve used a disguise item, we only disguised our human identity; our appearance hasn’t changed! He clearly recognized you as that little zombie.”
“What if he thinks you’re a zombie that turned into a human and believes you have the antidote to the zombie virus? What if he locks you up and tortures you?”
The assistant’s words made Song Jinshi break into a cold sweat.
Yes, he should run first; he couldn’t fight them now. After weighing his options, Song Jinshi took advantage of the moment when the group was distracted and dashed in the direction Meatball had run.
But before he could take a few steps, he was picked up.
“Let go of me!”
Song Jinshi angrily pounded the man’s chest and bared his teeth at him, as if to showcase his sharp teeth to intimidate the enemy.
But Pei Zhaoqing clearly wasn’t fazed by this. He lowered his head, leaned closer to Song Jinshi, and said in a voice only they could hear, “Do you want me to tell everyone you’re a zombie?”
As soon as those words were spoken, Song Jinshi calmed down. He looked warily at Pei Zhaoqing.
“What do you want?”
Seeing Song Jinshi settle down, Pei Zhaoqing put him down and then wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling him closer.
“Nice teeth; maybe I’ll let you bite me later.”
Song Jinshi furrowed his brows, looking at Pei Zhaoqing with a strange expression.
Is this man insane? Wanting a zombie to bite him!
“I’m asking what you want to do!”
Pei Zhaoqing raised an eyebrow, “I said, I want you to bite me.”
The way he said it was extremely ambiguous. But Song Jinshi seemed to have zoned out, not catching onto the man’s teasing.
He glared at the man in embarrassment and anger.
“Are you crazy? I’m asking what you want, why do you always answer with irrelevant things?”
Pei Zhaoqing chuckled at the furious Song Jinshi and tightened his grip slightly. He even started rubbing Song Jinshi’s slim waist slowly.
“Darling, you ask me what I want to do; what else could I possibly want? Of course, it’s you.”
Pei Zhaoqing spoke such shameless words but wore a serious expression.
Song Jinshi was stunned by the man’s blunt words. He knew he was a zombie, yet he spoke like that. At that moment, Song Jinshi was convinced that Pei Zhaoqing was indeed a pervert.
Believing in the idea of staying away from perverts, especially those who have ulterior motives toward him, Song Jinshi started to silently contemplate how to escape this situation.
Meatball had been gone without returning for a while, and he couldn’t afford to delay any longer.
However, Pei Zhaoqing was staring at him intently, and he had no way to break free.
Just as Song Jinshi was frowning and feeling troubled, Bo Yan’an broke the strange atmosphere between them.
“Song Jinshi, is he your boyfriend?”
Bo Yan’an’s tone was extremely disdainful.
Song Jinshi quickly shook his head, “No, no, I don’t have a boyfriend.”
Only then did Bo Yan’an turn his gaze to Pei Zhaoqing, “Since there’s no cause for this, Mr. Pei, isn’t what you are doing rather inappropriate?”
Pei Zhaoqing finally shifted some of his attention to this student-like man.
“What are you even?”
He had not forgotten that this student had tried to take Song Jinshi away just as he had opened his mouth.
How ridiculous! He had used all his effort and even sold his dignity just to stay by Song Jinshi’s side. Yet this student wanted to take him away.
Pei Zhaoqing ignored Bo Yan’an’s attempt to reason.
He disregarded Song Jinshi’s struggles and took him directly into the base.
Perhaps Pei Zhaoqing had a high status in this base. Song Jinshi was not subjected to a series of checks.
The guards at the entrance only took a glance at them before respectfully welcoming them inside.
When Song Jinshi was forcibly taken to Pei Zhaoqing’s residence, the anger he had repressed throughout the journey finally erupted.
