Wei Xun stood at the door, locking eyes with He Zhou, a chilling aura emanating from him, spreading throughout the bedroom.
“What’s the matter? Am I not coming back to make it easy for you to deal with my wife?”
Upon hearing this, Song Jin Shi desperately tried to bury his head deeper into Lin Yan Sheng’s embrace, attempting to escape the situation.
But Lin Yan Sheng had other plans. He raised his large hand, turning Song Jin Shi to face Wei Xun and He Zhou directly.
Then, Lin Yan Sheng rested his head on Song Jin Shi’s shoulder, exhaling warm breath into his ear.
“Be good, look at them, and tell your husband—have they touched you?”
In an instant, Song Jin Shi’s face flushed with embarrassment. He mumbled hesitantly, “No.”
“Good boy.” Lin Yan Sheng’s provocative gaze fixed on the two men across from him.
Wei Xun narrowed his eyes and, without a word, lunged to kill Lin Yan Sheng.
Lin Yan Sheng dodged the attack, fearing for Song Jin Shi’s safety, and set him down to focus on dealing with Wei Xun.
However, what Lin Yan Sheng didn’t expect was that as he released Song Jin Shi, a fine thread silently wrapped around him, and then both he and the thread vanished from sight.
“Wife!”
He Zhou watched in shock as Song Jin Shi suddenly disappeared, lunging forward in an attempt to catch him but finding nothing.
Hearing the commotion, both Lin Yan Sheng and Wei Xun immediately noticed Song Jin Shi’s disappearance.
“What exactly is in your instance? How dare it steal someone right under our noses?” Lin Yan Sheng demanded, his voice full of accusation.
Wei Xun furrowed his brow in contemplation.
It seemed there indeed was something he had overlooked all along.
Thinking this, Wei Xun swiftly made his way to the bathroom, staring at the mirror before him.
“Come out!”
The mirror remained unresponsive.
This was unusual.
Typically, that thing would appear as soon as he called, even automatically when he entered the bathroom, but now it was gone.
He recalled the day he cornered Song Jin Shi at the sink, when that thing had seemed eager to come out and latch onto him.
Realizing this, Wei Xun was almost certain that it was this monster that had taken his wife.
Due to Song Jin Shi’s sudden disappearance, the remaining men tacitly agreed to cooperate.
Wei Xun openly shared his suspicions with the others.
“If he’s in that mirror, how can we rescue him?”
“And if that mirror breaks, will it affect him? Can he still come out?”
Lin Yan Sheng raised a string of questions.
“If I knew how to save him, I would have done it already. We must avoid damaging the mirror at all costs; that monster lives inside it, and if it breaks, it will certainly cause unforeseen consequences.”
Wei Xun punched the wall, instantly creating a hole in the smooth surface.
At the time Song Jin Shi disappeared, the monsters downstairs tormenting the players also suddenly vanished, leaving behind players who were now neither recognizable as human nor ghostly.
…
Originally, Song Jin Shi had been inside, but just as Lin Yan Sheng and Wei Xun were about to fight, he suddenly felt a dizzying sensation and then found himself in this pitch-black place.
“Lin Yan Sheng?”
Song Jin Shi softly called out his name, as he was terrified of the dark, especially in a place where he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face.
His calls went unanswered.
Yet he could clearly hear movement nearby. He was too frightened to consider what it was and desperately clung to the hope it was someone he knew.
“Wei Xun?”
Still no response, yet the sound was getting closer.
“He Zhou?”
As he called out this name, his voice trembled with the hint of tears, as he felt that something was right next to him.
He curled up tightly, trying to escape the proximity of whatever it was.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed.
The last sound faded before Song Jin Shi.
An unseen entity picked him up and moved towards an even darker place.
After an unknown distance, it pushed open a door, and the sudden light was so stimulating that Song Jin Shi could not open his eyes.
His tear-stained eyes, affected by the brightness, shut tightly.
It was as if he were waiting for a prince to wake him with a kiss.
Yuan Wen thought this and proceeded to do just that.
A wet, warm kiss landed on Song Jin Shi’s lips, the shock causing him to forget his discomfort, and he opened his eyes wide.
The familiar face filled his vision.
It was Yuan Wen, who was supposed to be chasing after Wei Xun but had vanished.
The tension in his heart eased as the fear that once made it race began to settle.
“Good boy, wife.”
Yuan Wen’s eyes slanted with a smile, his voice low.
Only then did Song Jin Shi realize he was still held in Yuan Wen’s arms.
Even his mouth was pressed against his!
He quickly pushed against Yuan Wen.
Yuan Wen obliged and set him down.
Having already gained the benefits, continuing to tease now would only make the little fool embarrassed.
“What are you doing here?”
Song Jin Shi questioned angrily, his voice heated.
“Weren’t you supposed to be killing Wei Xun? Why did you not follow through? If you had, I wouldn’t have been so embarrassed earlier!”
In his frustration, Song Jin Shi glared at Yuan Wen, believing himself to be intimidating.
Little did he know, to the man, this was just a form of petulance.
