The next day,
Song Jinshi stood in front of the gaming console, waiting for the game to start.
Beside him, Bai Yan clung closely to him, saying, “Shibao, just tell me which instance you’re going into, and I’ll go with you to protect you.”
Bai Yan put on a pitiful expression, hoping that Song Jinshi would share information about the instance.
“Don’t.” Song Jinshi turned away, rejecting Bai Yan’s request.
“It’s impossible for me to complete the Strategy Mission in an instance where you guys are present; my completion rate is only eighty per cent every time.”
Bai Yan looked at Song Jinshi’s tender cheeks and remarked, “Shibao, you’re so cute even when you’re angry.”
Annoyed, Song Jinshi pushed Bai Yan slightly, but the man was strong and not someone he could easily move.
In the end, he found himself pushed back two steps instead.
Unable to tolerate Bai Yan’s constant chatter, Song Jinshi pretended not to hear and quietly waited for the instance to open.
“Little assistant, they’re so annoying. We’re all players, but they don’t do in the instance and just keep hanging around me. Even after leaving the instance, they still cling to me.”
The little assistant’s signal light blinked but remained silent.
Sigh, when will the host realize how outstanding he is? How could anyone not like him?
Plus, the host has such a pampered nature, as if born to be cared for by the strong, locked away in a dark room, accompanied only by the world’s most precious treasures, seeing only men every day.
However, the little assistant kept these thoughts to itself and simply reminded, “Host, the instance is about to open. Please be prepared.”
On the other side, Yun Ye had already connected the pathways for the two instances. Once Song Jinshi entered, he would arrive in their horror district’s instance called “Wedding.”
Finally, the moment to open the instance arrived.
Yun Ye approached the control panel for the horror district, ready to enter the instance.
However, just before he pressed the button, someone knocked him out, taking his place in the instance instead.
Song Jinshi felt that the transmission time for this instance was unusually long, but he didn’t mind as he thought about how to clear it perfectly and what kind of person the Strategy Mission would be.
“Welcome players to the instance——Wedding.”
“Players will assume their respective roles in this instance; please do not reveal your identities.”
“Your task in this instance——survive for ten days.”
When Song Jinshi opened his eyes, he found himself in a pitch-black place.
He heard the instance announcement, which was different from before.
Carefully, he asked the little assistant, “Why does this announcement sound so different?”
The little assistant was also puzzled but dismissed it, considering it a characteristic of the instance without further thought.
Song Jinshi cautiously shifted his body, attempting to leave the place.
He reached out his hand to feel around, only to unexpectedly touch firm skin and a cold, inhuman sensation.
Terrified, Song Jinshi quickly withdrew his hand, his voice trembling as he asked the little assistant, “What is he? Does this instance have a ghost?”
Before the little assistant could respond, a pale hand covered Song Jinshi’s mouth, while another wrapped around his waist.
“I’ve caught you, darling.”
Song Jinshi, who was already tense, froze in fear when that hand covered his mouth.
It was as if he had forgotten how to control his body, helplessly letting tears flow.
The tears fell like pearls from a broken string, landing directly on the big hand that had covered him.
Noticing that Song Jinshi had been scared to tears, the person seemed to have paused for a moment.
Song Jinshi felt the person behind him turn him around to face them.
As he turned to confront the person, the air in the enclosed space suddenly became hot; although it was only his own breathing, he thought he heard a rapid breath.
“Darling, you cry so beautifully; you mustn’t cry like this in bed, or I won’t be able to help myself.”
A hoarse, magnetic voice whispered in Song Jinshi’s ear.
Song Jinshi was momentarily stunned, not realizing that this person was teasing him.
It seemed the person could see right through Song Jinshi’s thoughts and continued more explicitly, “I won’t be able to help wanting to keep you in bed.”
In an instant, Song Jinshi’s face flushed fiercely, embarrassment overtaking his previous fear.
He even boldly pushed the person away.
“I don’t even know you; how can you say such things?”
“Oh~” The person looked at Song Jinshi meaningfully.
“Does that mean, darling, that once we know each other, it’s okay to say such things?”
Song Jinshi was left speechless by this shameless individual; that was not what he meant, yet the person continued to twist his words.
Just as he was about to explain, a loud noise interrupted him.
“The coffin of Lin Yansheng is just there.”
“Has the little son from the Song family been placed inside?”
“Yes, he has. In five days, the wedding can take place, and Lin Yansheng can be buried.”
“Keep an eye on them, don’t let anything go wrong.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be watching. It’s been years since anything went wrong in our line of work.”
“After the burial, you won’t be missing out on the benefits.”
The voices grew fainter, and Song Jinshi concluded that the two had likely left. He quietly exhaled.
Just as he was about to continue explaining, he suddenly heard the sound of a door opening.
Then came a voice filled with disdain, “Why is there so much dust in this room?”
From the sound of the person patting their clothes, it seemed that the newcomer was a neat freak.
Just as Song Jinshi relaxed a bit, he tensed up again, afraid that the person would discover him.
