“Boyfriend, can I get a kiss?”
He desperately needed some intimate connection that could validate the authenticity of this moment they shared.
The answer, of course, was yes.
At that moment outside the villa, Lady Huo did not simply leave as Huo Qijun had assumed; rather, upon seeing Lin Wei, she had a new purpose. She remembered that Yu Yu had mentioned Lin Wei was pursuing him before, but at that time, she hadn’t paid much attention to it. This circle was full of boys playing around, and those who didn’t catch her eye were of no concern, as she had no energy to discipline anyone other than her son.
However, just then, she suddenly thought that perhaps targeting Lin Wei might be a good choice; Lin Wei was clearly a trusted brother of Huo Qijun, and Lady Huo had no doubt that Lin Wei knew the ins and outs of Fu Xiaoqing’s disappearance. Especially since Huo Qijun had hidden the matter so deeply, even she couldn’t find it; it had to involve contacts outside of the Huo family, and there was no one else other than Lin Wei.
If she could find a breakthrough from Lin Wei, that would be fantastic. Lady Huo held little hope but didn’t mind using Yu Yu as bait to give it a try.
So after leaving Huo Qijun’s house, she sat in the car, waiting for Lin Wei to come out of that building.
After patiently waiting for nearly half an hour, she finally heard some movement not far away. Looking through the one-way glass from the car, Lady Huo was surprised to see Lin Wei and her son walking out one after the other.
She initially thought they were about to leave, and Lady Huo’s mind was already preparing to ask the driver to leave, but before she could pull her gaze away, she saw that they merely strolled over to the adjacent building where Lin Wei lived.
At that moment, Lin Wei reached for the door, and unexpectedly, Huo Qijun suddenly hugged him from behind. Lin Wei instinctively held onto the doorframe, and the door did not open.
Seeing this scene, an unsettling feeling rose in Lady Huo’s heart. Huo Qijun, raised with strict discipline, was never the type to joke around with friends like this. Such a childish and intrusive gesture was simply too out of character for her son.
Lin Wei, caught off guard by the sudden ’attack,’ chuckled in good spirits, gently patting Huo Qijun’s head from behind: “Let go a little. Let me open the door first, and we can talk once we’re inside.”
“I don’t want to let go,” Huo Qijun replied, resting his chin on Lin Wei’s shoulder. He suddenly recalled that Fang Yueyue had said that he and Lin Wei had no height difference, and at that moment, he couldn’t help but think that this embrace was just right.
He circled Lin Wei’s waist and took half a step back, giving Lin Wei enough space to open the door, but as the door was about to open successfully, he regretted it. He reached out to pull the door handle back. With a slight sound, the door closed again.
“Ah Qijun!” Lin Wei was both angry and amused.
Huo Qijun ignored Lin Wei’s warning and turned Lin Wei back around, kissing him once more without a care.
Lin Wei was initially helpless but then looked down at his boyfriend’s tightly shut eyes, his eyelashes trembling slightly with excitement. It seemed he indeed enjoyed this thrill of kissing outside together.
Forget it, let’s indulge him.
He resignedly closed his eyes and gently kissed back, placing his hand on Huo Qijun’s head.
The system had logged off the moment Huo Qijun had sat on Lin Wei’s lap earlier; otherwise, it would have sent a reminder to ensure Lady Huo wouldn’t witness this scene.
However, the next day, when the system was back online, it diligently crawled through the internet to pass this information on to Lin Wei, puzzled: [She actually left just like that, without catching you two in the act?]
Lin Wei raised an eyebrow in slight surprise upon learning this, then quickly realized the aim of Lady Huo, who had deliberately been waiting outside.
[She definitely doesn’t want to break through this barrier; she can’t accept Ah Qijun admitting to her that he likes men. For now, she can still deceive herself, thinking Ah Qijun is just curious and led astray by me.]
[Master, she won’t turn around and deal with you, will she?]
[I guess she might, but that’s fine. The more selfish she is, the smoother things will go for Ah Qijun.]
Lin Wei didn’t care much regarding this issue, but it seemed that recently, Huo Qijun might be forced to become busy. Lady Huo likely wouldn’t be able to wait until the end-of-year shareholders’ meeting and would advance it.
He mentioned this to Huo Qijun, whose expression suddenly turned rather interesting: “You mean she saw everything that night?!”
Lin Wei confirmed with a hum, initially wanting to console him, only to immediately hear Huo Qijun mutter, “Good thing I wasn’t thinking of doing anything else with you outside that night!”
“… You were thinking of doing something else?” Lin Wei asked, both angry and amused: “What is that?”
Huo Qijun fell silent: “…………”
Given the storm that was about to break, Lin Wei didn’t pursue the topic further, but Huo Qijun sensed something was off. There was an ominous feeling that whatever happened between them in bed might not go smoothly.
This was indeed a headache, yet Huo Qijun soon lost interest in dwelling on it. From his state of being tangled in various troubles and overwhelmed, it was evident that his mother was very affected by the sight of him kissing Lin Wei.
The only one benefiting from this mayhem was Fu Xiaoqing, who was finally removed from his mother’s assassination list.
He managed to find a moment in his busy schedule to text Fu Xiaoqing a congratulatory message. She, not understanding the reason, called back after asking what was happening.
“What’s going on? Your mom isn’t going to turn around and deal with Brother Lin Wei, is she?” Fu Xiaoqing hardly had the leisure to rejoice in her escape, as her first reaction mirrored the system’s.
Huo Qijun wasn’t pleased: “Why are you so concerned about him? He’s doing fine! He’s highly skilled; my mom looks completely outmatched against him.”
Having been privy to much drama lately, Huo Qijun realized for the first time the capability of his gentle boyfriend.
Fu Xiaoqing relaxed a little bit, her tone annoyed: “That’s because Brother Lin Wei is smart! It doesn’t excuse your troublemaking! This whole mess is still because of your reckless behavior, and you still have the audacity to act jealous!”
