His body felt entirely transformed, infused with unprecedented magical energy.
He knew very well where this power originated. If breaking through to a higher level was truly this easy, he wouldn’t have been stuck at this point for over two years, unable to touch that bottleneck each time.
Undoubtedly, it was the effect of that soda.
Is this the power of a devil? Ebul couldn’t help but submit to this mysterious yet elusive force.
He looked at the shopkeeper, who had black hair and dark eyes, filled with awe. While he was excited about his breakthrough, he knew that it was all thanks to this person. Ebul wasn’t someone who failed to appreciate kindness.
For some reason, Lusnian felt that this customer was a bit strange and worried that he might have eaten something bad in the store.
If he had to compensate for the energy coins he had just acquired, it would be a loss.
“How do you feel?” the shopkeeper asked with concern, slightly furrowing his brows.
Ebul’s spirit was jolted; he pondered that this could be the devil’s test for him. He raised his head confidently and replied, “Sir, I now feel full of power. Please command me, and I will surely spread your will throughout the world!”
Lusnian automatically filtered Ebul’s words and understood that this was probably a way of saying, “I feel great, the merchandise is valuable, and I will promote it more.”
He nodded secretly, feeling that although this customer was a bit odd, he was quite perceptive.
“Then I’ll leave the promotion to you. I hope we can attract more customers.”
The warrior nodded vigorously, determined to serve the devil diligently and spread more followers!
“You can give the band-aids a try now.” Lusnian stroked his chin, pondering for a moment, then reminded Ebul.
Ebul tore open a band-aid; a small piece was not enough to cover a wound, but he didn’t look down on it at all, carefully applying it to the scratch on his arm.
The seemingly ordinary drink possessed such strange abilities, so he dared not underestimate the other items.
As soon as he applied it, he felt the wound on his body tingle and begin to heal, the speed astonishing.
He had used healing potions from the Light Church before, but those only restored some surface wounds and had very limited effects. Something that worked instantly was beyond imagination.
Suddenly, he remembered his brother’s severed right arm from hunting magical beasts. His eyes brightened; if the devil’s abilities were so powerful, maybe, just maybe, he could regenerate his brother’s lost arm…
Ebul looked up and asked, filled with hope, “Sir, can you restore a severed arm?”
Lusnian replied, “Maybe in the future, if there are enough customers.” This way, more merchandise could be unlocked, and the shop had many items that were grayed out and needed unlocking, with an array of various goods.
This statement awakened Ebul; divine beings require faith for sustenance. For example, the Light God has followers spread across the world, and the power of faith is boundless.
The devil’s words implied that as long as there were enough followers, he would grow stronger. In the future, there might be hope for his poor brother!
Even if the lord was perhaps an evil god, to Ebul, in this chaotic world, there was no difference between good and evil. As long as people could survive, what mattered if the god was evil?
In a time when lives were undervalued, those who could help them were the gods worth believing in.
Ebul placed all the scattered gold coins back on the counter, deciding to buy one of each item!
In this time and space, gold coins still held value; an adult’s monthly salary was about three gold coins. For a mercenary like Ebul, he made a decent amount each month but only earned around seventeen or eighteen gold coins, leaving him with just a few after daily expenses.
He hadn’t brought too many gold coins with him this time; he bought two bottles of soda, two bags of chips, three durian candies (which were a bit cheaper), and two band-aids.
Having sold so many items at once, it was clear that Lusnian was in a very good mood. Energy coins quickly poured in, adding nearly seven to eight hundred to the tiny treasury.
The Abyssal Transit Device had a fixed teleportation point to the left of the shop sign, which was quite simple in design, but functional enough.
After sending this customer away, Lusnian began to consider restocking.
There were currently seven bottles of soda left, eight bags of chips, seventeen durian candies, and eight band-aids.
Opening the system shop, he found those items available for restocking, and he purchased some to fill the shelves.
After buying thirty durian candies, the rest were in quantities of twenty, and after finishing these purchases, he had thirty-two energy coins left.
Lusnian couldn’t help but lament how difficult it was to make money; just moments ago, he thought a few hundred energy coins were a fortune, and now it was all gone before he even spent it.
“Today is the new player benefit period, and there is no restriction on restocking time. After today, restocking will be limited until the end of the day. Please be advised, master, to purchase a reasonable variety and amount of goods.”
This meant that he couldn’t just restock mindlessly; with so little money in hand, once he sold out of goods, he would end up staring blankly at the customers.
He needed to grasp market trends, prioritize stocking popular items, and handle every single energy coin wisely to earn more.
Lusnian tidied up the light orb and waited for the next customer.
*
In the blink of an eye, Ebul returned to the exact spot he fell into the abyss.
The forest was now peaceful, with no noise; apparently, the magical beast had left, having inexplicably lost its prey and not waiting long enough.
Even now, if he faced that leopard, Ebul was confident he could counterattack successfully.
His body was bursting with magical energy, with only a faint red mark remaining from his wounds, and he was in peak condition.
With no time to spare worrying about the magical beast, he ran quickly towards Vistal City, carrying a variety of items with him.
He needed to gather with the members of the mercenary group and share this good news!
Chapter 3
Ebul rushed to Vistal City overnight, heading towards the hall of the mercenary group.
