霍索恩’s eyes darted as a thought flashed through his mind; he pointed at the individual.
“I choose him!”
Originally on the ground pleading and looking pitiful, the individual immediately stood up upon hearing this declaration.
He clenched his fists, vigorously squeezed his palms, and the sound of cracking knuckles filled the air. For a moment, the thin person seemed exceptionally fierce.
At this moment, 霍索恩 began to feel something was off. He turned to the onlookers, who were now sporting smirks worn by those who had just succeeded in a conspiracy.
“Hahaha, 乔治 is a high-ranking warrior; taking down a worthless noble will be a piece of cake.”
“Come on, 乔治! Avenge our lord! Give him a good beating!”
“Don’t go easy on him; how dare he provoke our lord in 维斯塔 City, does he take us for dead?!”
霍索恩 was momentarily dumbfounded, stuttering, “You…you plotted against me?”
The individual showed no intention of letting him continue his outburst. With a swift motion, he threw a punch that even 霍索恩’s guards couldn’t intercept in time.
The fist struck 霍索恩’s face with tremendous force, cutting through the air with a whoosh.
“Ahhhh—”
A blood-curdling scream broke through the skies.
As night deepened, 路斯年 glanced at the system clock — it was nearly eight o’clock. Just as he was ready to close up shop for the night, the elevator outside chimed once more.
“Hey, hey, is the boss around? Hurry up and welcome me!”
The elevator doors opened, revealing several individuals stepping out.
The one at the front was draped in a long robe, looking resplendent at first glance, but upon closer inspection, his face bore numerous bruises and scars.
What stood out the most was the large dark circle around his left eye, giving him a pitifully beaten appearance.
An attendant followed closely behind him, carefully applying medicine with a piece of cotton cloth.
“Ouch.” The attendant accidentally trembled, causing the man to inhale sharply. He kicked out in anger, shouting, “What are you doing? Can’t you apply medicine properly?!”
The attendant stumbled back several steps in a panic, bowing apologetically, “My lord, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, it was my mistake. Please don’t be angry.”
This man was none other than 霍索恩, who had just received a brutal beating. 乔治 had aimed straight for his face without anyone intervening.
Once the beating had finally settled down, the city lord had leisurely stepped in to separate them, infuriating 霍索恩, who was then forcibly taken away to treat his injuries.
To make matters worse, after suffering such serious injuries, he was told there were no skilled healers in 维斯塔 City?
In the end, he received a bottle of ordinary medicine and was sent away. That seemingly honest city lord kept lamenting, showing no intention of providing proper treatment.
霍索恩 was left fuming, his eyes bloodshot.
The adhesive bandage previously used by 沃里斯 had proven to be remarkably effective, and since the shop was located near 维斯塔 City, how could there be no suitable healing items?
Now he was in this state, looking utterly miserable, with wounds not even healed yet, and needing to return to the abyss for supplies.
When 路斯年 looked up, the man’s dark circles took up most of his attention, and he nearly burst out laughing. For the sake of this guest, he forcefully suppressed the corners of his mouth from turning upward.
Even so, his words carried a barely-contained hint of amusement: “May I ask what this esteemed customer would like to purchase?”
霍索恩 was nearly enraged to the point of jumping up. He was already seething with anger, and now it was all directed at the shop owner, feeling deep down that if it weren’t for him, he wouldn’t have faced such a beating.
A cold smile curled on his lips as he raised his chin, looking down on the shop owner: “So you are the boss? This shabby little shop is well-hidden. You! Over there, bring me everything you have!”
He pointed casually at the few attendants behind him, commanding them to ransack the shop’s goods.
路斯年 sensed that this person meant trouble. Instead of stopping them, he deliberately stepped aside, inviting them to go ahead and make a mess.
Ever since he learned about the shop’s defensive measures, he had been waiting for this day.
Unfortunately, previous customers had all been very respectful; none dared to act recklessly. He even felt that if he made the slightest move, the customers would kneel and beg for mercy.
This only made it so that 路斯年 had yet to witness the immense power of the system.
Now, however, he was wide-eyed, eagerly watching these people make their move, curious about how the shop would retaliate.
With his eyes glued to the scene, even 霍索恩’s attendants had drawn their swords but were too hesitant to strike.
Frustrated by their inaction, 路斯年 couldn’t help but call out, “Hurry up and smash it, what are you waiting for?”
The situation became even more bizarre.
霍索恩 glanced at his opponent with uncertainty, torn by doubt; surely, this wasn’t some kind of trap?
He had been incredibly unlucky these past few days, having been tricked far too many times. Sensing something was off, he immediately raised his guard.
He decided it would be best to first have a discussion with the shop owner before taking any action.
“Hey, I am 霍索恩, the viscount. I want to get some supplies. How do you sell your goods?”
Upon hearing that familiar name, 路斯年 realized this person was indeed 霍索恩, the noble mentioned by 沃里斯.
It seemed he didn’t intend to stir up trouble after all. 路斯年 shrugged, lazily resting his chin on his hand. “Not for sale.”
Since he had already promised 沃里斯, he naturally wouldn’t go back on his word.
Gold coins were important, but for merchants, integrity was the greatest asset for future success.
霍索恩’s temper was already explosive; for him to suppress it just to discuss was already unbelievable. Upon hearing 路斯年的 response, he widened his eyes in disbelief: “Are you joking? What kind of shop doesn’t sell anything?”
“Not for sale.”
“You!”
At that moment, the elevator stopped once more, and a few more customers arrived.
“Shop owner, we would like to buy two bottles of cola.”
