This is an escape variety show, and maintaining their connections is merely a “role” assigned by the script. They each have their tasks to complete, so there isn’t much room for anything else.
He comes to play the guitar and takes off his shirt, forcing the livestream to go dark. Is this what he really wants to discuss?
However, if Dan Qi is not harboring good intentions, then neither are his thoughts.
Yan Chuan pressed his lips together, looking at Tang Zhen with evident displeasure. He couldn’t help but feel that the way Tang Zhen looked at him was no different from how Dan Qi viewed him.
It’s just that Yan Chuan’s cheeks were flushed, and the corners of his eyes were slightly upturned, exuding a thick and vibrant color, making it hard for him to look intimidating.
“Ha,” Tang Zhen scoffed with a hint of mockery, expressing his deep dissatisfaction with Dan Qi: “He’s definitely not a good person.”
Yet, he didn’t elaborate further, as if he was avoiding saying something. Instead, he got back on track: “Liang Xin brought his girlfriend; they’re looking for buyers for Apartment Five.”
Yan Chuan wasn’t very surprised; he was just a bit curious. “How do you know this?”
Yan Chuan didn’t fully understand his own tasks yet and was unable to answer questions from the second task, so his speculations were merely pensive. Does Tang Zhen have some special investigative methods?
But Tang Zhen didn’t answer that question. Instead, he asked, “You live on the same floor as Apartment Five; you must have heard some strange noises coming from their apartment, right?”
Yan Chuan hesitated but nodded.
Tang Zhen voiced a suspicion similar to Dan Qi’s, his eyes darkening: “I suspect there’s another ‘person’ hiding in their apartment.”
“Do you want to check it out with me?”

“In Love Game Gone Awry” by Miao Yuzi
In the pink romantic castle, Lian Su faces the handsome prince from fairy tales, expressing their feelings for one another.
The prince’s amber eyes shimmer with gentle affection.
In the next moment, he plants a kiss on Lian Su’s forehead and makes the most passionate promise:
“I will marry you.”
As night falls, the castle gradually sheds its pink romantic facade, revealing its true appearance.

The prince, wielding a sharp blade several meters long, walks heavily on the rusty stairs of the castle, his footsteps echoing in the empty silence. He stretches his five-meter-long head, searching each room, repeatedly calling, “My bride, come out and dance with me.”
The metallic scent of blood choked Lian Su, who covered her mouth and nose, daring not to breathe.

Chapter 22: Apartment 13
The bedroom door swung open again.
Tang Zhen had already changed into the gray top Yan Chuan had given him, casually following behind him as they stepped outside.
The screen in the livestream room lit up again.
【I hate that the screen went black, why can’t I even hear anything?】
【I feel like Yan’s face is blushing; what did that bad man do?】
【I feel his initiative is stronger than a plumber’s.】
【I also want to lift my wife’s clothes… Is that okay to say?】
“Are we going right now?” Yan Chuan touched his still cool cheek and asked Tang Zhen.
Tang Zhen nodded. “Right now.”
Yan Chuan asked, “Should we find someone else to join us?”
Like Dan Qi or other contestants?
Tang Zhen replied, “Having more people will easily alert others.”
Yan Chuan was not to be dissuaded: “What about Dan Qi…”
Compared to Tang Zhen, he felt that Dan Qi, who had already reached an agreement with them, was more trustworthy.
At least, he’s easier to talk to, right?
Tang Zhen’s expression visibly darkened.
He always maintained a gentle façade in front of other contestants, but for some reason, it often shattered in front of Yan Chuan.
You could say that when alone with Yan Chuan or seeing him with other men, Tang Zhen would behave unusually.
“I’m afraid that won’t work,” Tang Zhen said almost word by word: “He went to find Liang Xin, so he probably can’t accompany you.”
Yan Chuan responded with an “oh” and said, “Then never mind.”
Tang Zhen’s expression eased a bit. “Let’s go.”
Yan Chuan followed Tang Zhen out.
Apartment Five was on the same floor. They walked down the corridor and surprisingly found the apartment door still closed.
The windows were tightly shut, thick blue curtains blocking any prying eyes, preventing them from seeing inside from the corridor.
There were indeed people inside; muffled groans came from within the rooms, which felt eerie.
Despite it still being daytime, it was incredibly quiet around Apartment Five, almost to the point of silence.
Yan Chuan glanced at Tang Zhen.
“How are we going to get in?” he hesitated and turned to Tang Zhen.
Tang Zhen answered nonchalantly, “We’ll go through the ventilation ducts.”
Yan Chuan blinked, a hint of confusion in his dark, bright eyes.
The ventilation ducts?
“Is it from here?” Yan Chuan furrowed his brows at the dark, grimy opening, raising his voice slightly: “We’re going in from here?”
Tang Zhen nodded. “The ventilation ducts run throughout the entire building, connecting with each other.”
His tone was so certain that it was quite convincing. However, Yan Chuan looked at the layer of dust piled at the duct’s opening, feeling hesitant.
Yan Chuan was a bit of a neat freak; the sanatorium he previously lived in was clean and tidy. In this escape variety show, at least the places he stayed were always clean.
Now asking him to crawl through the ventilation duct… Yan Chuan looked at the dust-covered duct opening again, his delicate brows furrowing even deeper.
