The slight resistance went unnoticed by the prison warden, who reached out and dragged the little thief from the East, along with the chair, in front of him.
Then he began what he referred to as “discipline and care.”
The sharp tip of the silver cutlery glimmered faintly as a piece of steak was brought to Yan Chuan’s lips.
Yan Chuan paused briefly but obediently opened his mouth.
Amid the warden’s ambiguous gaze, he swallowed the food that was fed to him.
It tasted good, but the moment he thought about who was feeding him, Yan Chuan felt a headache coming on.
The slender and beautiful dark-haired youth sat in the chair looking very docile, but a closer inspection revealed that he was wearing handcuffs on his wrists.
Handcuffed to the chair, he sat there with his mouth open, waiting for someone else to feed him.
His long and curled eyelashes blinked frequently, and his rosy lips unconsciously licked together.
The white flesh of his cheeks swelled slightly as he swallowed.
It seemed the warden enjoyed the act of feeding someone and continued to do so.
He was considerate with the cuts of food, slicing them into small, manageable pieces, allowing Yan Chuan time to chew and swallow.
Ariel had no specific understanding of the little thief’s appetite, and Yan Chuan didn’t feel comfortable saying he didn’t want to eat anymore, so he reluctantly chewed and swallowed, brow furrowed.
The amount of food was far greater than what he would eat on his own.
“I’m full…” Unable to swallow any further, Yan Chuan shook his head, refusing the spoon that Ariel offered.
The warden raised an eyebrow, “Full?”
He glanced at the half-eaten plate of food, seeming to ponder.
“Then I’ll just have a bit more soup…” Yan Chuan pressed his lips together, “Just a little.”
The beautiful Eastern youth blinked, his gaze falling on the soup bowl.
He had just finished eating, his cheeks slightly puffed, and his soft lips appeared even rosier.
He exuded a certain… softness, appearing obedient, as if he would listen to whatever was said.
There was no trace of the stubbornness and defiance he had shown moments earlier, even in his eyes.
Ariel suddenly smiled.
The thin, cold corner of his lips formed an almost invisible arc, enough to hint at a pleasing expression.
Yan Chuan: …What is he smiling about?
Frowning, he asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”
Is it too much to want some soup?
If he didn’t want him to have soup, then why had he just asked?
Yan Chuan’s expression was becoming more peculiar.
“It’s nothing,” the warden replied casually, “Then have a bit more.”
After drinking some soup, Yan Chuan thought that Ariel might have just smiled.
It was merely a brief arc, lasting only for a few seconds.
He attempted to recall the scene he had seen, was it… really?
But what was he smiling about?
All day long, Yan Chuan was forced to follow Ariel.
Yet deep down, he still held onto a secret hope.
In the confinement island prison, at a set time in the evening, the prisoners were required to return to their respective cells, with the guards locking each cell one by one.
Yan Chuan had never missed his narrow cell this much before.
However, as the time approached, even upon hearing the faint ringing sound, he did not see any movement from the man in front of him.
After waiting for a while, Yan Chuan could no longer hold his tongue and directly asked.
“Mr. Warden,” the beautiful little thief from the East blinked, suggestively glancing outside, “It seems it’s time for the prisoners to return to their cells.”
So, please unlock my handcuffs and let me go back to my cell.
Yan Chuan glanced at his hand, shackled all day, and then looked at Ariel.
He didn’t voice his thoughts, but his eyes were intense.
It was clear that as soon as Ariel unlocked the handcuffs, he would sprint back immediately.
“Yes.” The warden nodded slightly.
Yan Chuan waited, hoping for a more substantial response, but only received that light reply, which left him furrowing his brow in distress.
Does this person not understand his meaning!
Yan Chuan had no choice but to speak plainly, “Then do I need to go back? After all, I am still a numbered prisoner, and even if I leave this office, I won’t be leaving the prison.”
“Am I also going back?”
Ariel looked down at him.
His long, curled eyelashes fluttered nervously, as if afraid of being rejected.
From a close distance, his beautiful face left a greater impact. His jet black hair, snow-white skin, and lips the color of crushed flower petals were gossamer delicate.
His eyes were slightly round, looking as if they contained a clear pool of water. Yet the outer corners of his eyes lifted slightly, unwittingly adding a hint of charm.
His expression was innocent, appearing incredibly naive, completely unaware of how endearing this demeanor made him seem.
Conflicted yet appealing.
Clearly, he was a thief, yet his expression was so innocent.
When he was caught before, did he also display such a face in pleading with the unfortunate victim not to pursue his mistakes?
In the face of the dark-haired beauty’s plea, the warden’s response was merciless.
“No,” Ariel said flatly, “You need to stay with me for the time being, no matter where we go.”
“The prison has more than enough rooms, or if you want, you can stay with me.”
Before Yan Chuan could respond, the warden unlocked the handcuffs, turning to clasp the other end in his palm.
“Let’s go,” he said, “Follow me back.”
Ariel took the disobedient little thief back to his resting place.
This was a place Yan Chuan had certainly never been, and he didn’t even know there was a corridor here.
He kept his head lowered as much as possible, not wanting the guards standing nearby to recognize him.
However, in the confinement island prison, he was the only prisoner with black hair and black eyes. As soon as he stood out, the guards would know who he was.
Yan Chuan did not need to raise his head to know the guards were all watching him.
