“Well, that’s just too much. Punish him for a lifetime by not allowing his wife to pay any attention to him.”
“Sweet baby.”
“Woo woo, Yan Bao is still protecting others.”
“What a kind baby, crying. Can someone with a better personality come out and protect his wife?”
“I’m self-reproaching; I can’t help but want to see my wife seeking out bad men for protection because she can’t protect herself or those around her… I feel so awful; I’m guilty.”
It was nighttime.
Yan Chuan returned to his cell under the watch of a prison guard.
In the afternoon, after waiting for a while and confirming that He Se’s lackeys would not come back, he continued to carry out his duties.
The lackey hadn’t come, but the whereabouts of He Se himself were unknown.
Just thinking about that name made Yan Chuan feel uneasy.
However, they still lived in the same cell.
Yan Chuan pressed his lips together; this script didn’t allow him to simply change where he stayed.
The thought of having to see He Se soon made Yan Chuan reluctant to return.
Yet, after dawdling for a while, he finally walked back into the cell.
The other two were still pretending to be dead; if it weren’t for the strict monitoring by the prison, they probably wouldn’t even want to stay in this room.
He Se was there as well.
The young man with green eyes was sitting on the lower bunk, his unruly red hair tousled, and his expression very cold.
Upon seeing Yan Chuan enter, his gaze felt like something tangible, landing directly on him.
Yan Chuan lowered his eyes, pretending not to see anything.
He took his change of clothes to the washroom, intending to wash off the dirt on him and go to bed immediately.
There was still hot water available before lights out, so Yan Chuan planned to take a quick shower.
After all, He Se was sitting there, saying nothing.
By the time Yan Chuan had finished washing up and had slipped into the loose shirt he used as pajamas, He Se was still seated there.
This person was apparently waiting for him, not even changing his sitting position.
When he saw Yan Chuan come out, his intense gaze remained fixed on him.
Yan Chuan closed his eyes to dry his hair.
He Se waited a bit longer; seeing the Eastern beauty just coming out and standing there drying his hair, he finally realized that the other party had no intention of acknowledging him at all.
In fact, he had his eyes closed, and droplets of water from his forehead dripped onto his clean, fair cheeks.
Even He Se, who had a high opinion of himself, could tell that the person before him didn’t want to pay him the slightest attention; it was as if he was just air.
For the first time, He Se was so blatantly ignored:…
He was furious but laughed instead.
But as He Se continued to watch, he suddenly felt something was off.
The Eastern beauty had delicate features, a gentle appearance, and his snow-white cheeks were slightly flushed from the steam in the bathroom, his lips much more vibrant than before.
Having just showered, the slender beautiful youth wore only a thin shirt that barely covered his thighs, revealing his slender, straight legs.
Even the joints were a faint pink.
As he moved, the hem of the shirt slightly lifted, faintly revealing his slightly fuller thighs.
The curve was enticing, making one think of wanting to reach up and touch them.
Yet this person seemed completely unaware and tugged at the hem that was riding up, revealing only skin-tight undergarments underneath.
He Se:…
He glanced at the other two lying on the bed, pretending to be dead, and decided he would find a way to get them out tomorrow.
But before that, there was something he needed to do.
He Se walked over.
“Hmm?” Yan Chuan felt a sudden weight on his shoulder and turned to find He Se approaching, draping a piece of clothing over his shoulder without explanation.
The jacket hung loosely; Yan Chuan furrowed his brow in confusion.
“What’s this for?”
Why not bring up what had happened in the afternoon and instead put a coat over him?
After just showering, Yan Chuan hadn’t dried off completely and shrunk his shoulders: “What are you doing?”
Didn’t he see that he had just washed?
He Se maintained a stern expression: “Wear more clothes.”
Yan Chuan was even more puzzled: “But I just took a shower. Why should I wear more?”
Besides, he didn’t have many clothes; in this script, he was practically destitute. The shirt he wore had been given to him by Doctor Nave.
He Se’s face visibly darkened.
Yan Chuan ignored him, taking the coat off and stuffing it into his arms, pressing his lips together: “Thank you, but I don’t need it.”
If this person genuinely wanted to help him, then he should stop causing trouble for him and Lyon.
All he wanted was a quiet script.
He Se frowned.
“You’re not even wearing pants,” he lowered his voice, unable to hide his frustration, “You just came out like this?”
Yan Chuan cast him a sidelong glance.
“You’re so strange,” after being repeatedly told that he was underdressed, Yan Chuan was not too pleased: “I just took a shower. Am I really dressed that little? And I don’t have many clothes anyway.”
This wasn’t even his fault; did He Se expect him to wear a lot after showering?
“I feel like he’s so silly; just seeing him makes me want to laugh. What is this?”
“You don’t understand; this is a sign that Yan Bao has him in her grasp.”
“Goodness, is he just going to sit like this until morning without his wife paying attention to him? How dumb.”
“Yeah… the foolish dog is going to lose its right to choose a partner.”
He Se’s gaze fell on Yan Chuan’s slender calves.
When he caught sight of a mark on Yan Chuan’s knee, he suddenly froze.
When Yan Chuan found him so inexplicable, He Se switched topics.
He pointed to the mark on Yan Chuan’s knee and spoke solemnly: “What happened here?”
Here?
Yan Chuan followed his gaze and saw the mark he had gotten in the afternoon.
“Oh,” Yan Chuan closed his legs, speaking lightly: “I got scratched while delivering something; it’s already been treated.”
He was speaking the truth; the mark wasn’t serious; he had just gone to find Nave, and he had arranged for it to be treated.
After a whole afternoon, the red mark faded significantly, but it still looked quite conspicuous on his snow-white skin.
