Others gradually began to react as well. Although they did not understand why their superior cared about the status of a small streamer, they did not dare to contradict him.
“Should I sign it…?” The agent hesitated for a moment before informing the man, “I contacted him to come to the company for contract confirmation. Should we…?”
He intended to ask whether they should discuss it again or have him wait for now. After all, their superior had expressed such interest, clearly indicating the importance of this small streamer.
The agent’s gaze lingered momentarily on the documents.
“Have him come in,” the man in the main chair gestured for the assistant to put away the documents, speaking in a steady tone, “I will explain the changes in the terms and the platform’s interest in him.”
The agent nodded instinctively.
Before he could ask anything further, the man before him stood up and left, seemingly to discuss the contract with the small streamer intended for key development.
The agent couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
The new small streamer was indeed attractive, but was his estimated value on the platform already high enough to warrant their superior’s personal visit?
Yan Chuan did not wait for the familiar agent.
Instead, an unfamiliar assistant knocked on his door and asked him to go to another office to confirm the contract.
The assistant was dressed neatly, speaking rapidly, exuding a professional demeanor.
Yan Chuan hesitated but nodded.
Is signing contracts really such an important matter? He had waited quite a long time and had gone to several offices for this.
Or perhaps it was just the cumbersome procedures of a large company?
Yan Chuan had no way of knowing, so he obediently followed behind the assistant.
Regardless, he was still a pitiful small streamer and couldn’t afford to offend the platform.
Yan Chuan hoped to complete tasks soon and accumulate points.
So he merely muttered a few words in his heart; outwardly, he remained composed.
The assistant brought him to the front of an office.
“Please go in,” the assistant politely stated, “Someone is waiting for you inside.”
Yan Chuan stared at the long-haired carpet laid out before the office, lost in thought.
It would be impossible to say he hadn’t noticed anything.
The assistant had led him around until they arrived at an office that looked spacious and luxurious from the outside, though it was unclear whose office it was.
In any case, it was certainly not an “office for signing contracts.”
Who would use such a private office as a signing room? Were they that idle?
Or perhaps who inside wanted to see him?
Yan Chuan didn’t move, and the assistant politely lifted their hand slightly, indicating for him to enter.
“Who is waiting for me?” he hesitated for a moment before asking.
He pressed his lips together, looking somewhat doubtful.
The assistant maintained their smile, the curve of their lips unchanged: “You’ll know once you go in.”
Knowing he could gain no answers from here, Yan Chuan had no choice but to agree.
After all, he was only entering an office. He steeled himself and turned the doorknob.
The assistant, remembering to close the door, did so behind him.
A soft click echoed as the door shut behind Yan Chuan.
He had to step forward a few paces.
The office appeared even more spacious than it looked from the outside, almost revealing a hidden grandeur. Display screens were embedded in the walls, currently in a power-off state, emanating a faint blue glow.
At the center stood a desk and chair. The office chair faced away from him, suggesting the person seated was intently focused on something.
Yan Chuan was certain he had never seen this man before.
Even from behind, this person did not resemble anyone he had encountered.
“Hello?” Hearing the door open, the man did not turn around, prompting Yan Chuan to speak up, “I’m here to sign the contract…”
The office was too quiet; he could even hear his own breathing. With a touch of nervousness, his words came out in halting fits.
He sounded a bit weak.
Upon hearing him, the man turned around.
Indeed, it was a face entirely unfamiliar to him.
His features were deep and well-defined, undeniably handsome. His dark eyebrows and lashes framed deep-colored eyes that held a hint of purple, revealing no emotion.
He exuded a mature aura, completely shed of youth, displaying a composure born of experience.
Clearly, he was the owner of this office and held a respectable position—most likely a management role somewhere.
He appeared to be a very assertive man.
Yan Chuan stood before him, his fingertips gripping the hem of his outfit, wrinkling the neat fabric slightly. He seemed as harmless as a lost little rabbit, timidly huddled in the corner.
The man sat in his chair, propped up on his hand, showing no signs of being disturbed by the pitiful little rabbit before him.
He simply revealed a subtle smile directed towards Yan Chuan.
Then, slightly nodding, the man said, “You’ve arrived.”
The tone was familiar, but Yan Chuan had no time to ponder as his gaze fell not on the man’s face, but directly down—to the object resting in his wide palm.
In the man’s hand lay a thin pair of stockings, quietly held like a precious trinket.
It was an extremely familiar pair, light and delicate, as if he had seen them somewhere before.
The author has something to say:
Later I will write about Yan Bao participating in a romantic live stream, with several couple options:
A. Keli
B. Li
C. Spades
D. Outsider Evan
E. Mysterious Guest
F. All in (only children make choices; adults take all, just like all Yan Bao)
Chapter 50: Female Streamer 17
Typically, these thin stockings are mass-produced, with styles that are quite ordinary, showing no special characteristics.
If I had to say there was anything different, it would be that these stockings bore obvious signs of having been worn. The edges were pulled out slightly by flesh, with minor snags along the sides.
These stockings should be resting deep in a wardrobe or displayed in a merchandise container; in any case, they shouldn’t be in a man’s hands.
