“However…” Evan was clearly stunned by Yan Chuan’s words, still hesitating: “But the person who just walked by also saw your back. If they recognize me, they will surely guess our relationship.”
Just now, Yan Chuan’s actions seemed more like a momentary shield, but they didn’t cover his face.
Evan thought about it for a moment and felt that his intelligence was finally kicking in.
He agreed that reputation was very important to men, but when Yan Chuan pressed his face into him, it seemed he forgot to block him too.
Evan cast a puzzled glance at the pretty little staff member sitting beside him.
Yet, Yan Chuan innocently blinked and pursed his lips, asking, “Is it?”
His tone seemed reflective, “Next time, I’ll remember to block your face too.”
Yan Chuan pushed his porcelain bowl a little aside, “Anyway, you need to remember what I said.”
Evan subconsciously nodded, “I know.”
But doubt lingered as he hesitated to ask, “But what is our relationship…?”
Shouldn’t it just be a matter of keeping and being kept?
Evan hesitated.
No, the start of their relationship stemmed from his “threat.” Yan Chuan was trying to keep his job and originally approached him with the intent to keep. But he had no experience, and Yan Chuan refused to accept his credit card.
He wouldn’t even move into his house, only willing to come over on his days off.
So could their relationship still be considered that of keeping and being kept?
Keeping = monetary transaction/forced theft + intimacy
But between him and Yan Chuan, there wasn’t a monetary transaction, and while it involved forced action, there was no intimacy, making the equation void.
If the equation was void, the conclusion didn’t apply.
Evan suddenly realized something.
Could their transaction be… love?
Was he and Yan Chuan in love?
Did Yan Chuan think they were in love?
Evan suddenly felt parched.
He had just had a glass of fruit wine, sweet and refreshing, but now he felt like someone who had been thirsty for a long time, with only thoughts of how to quench his thirst occupying his mind.
He fixed his gaze on Yan Chuan’s dainty, plump lips, and a bold thought crossed his mind.
But before Evan could speak, Yan Chuan answered with some confusion.
“What kind of relationship…” Yan Chuan was taken aback by his abrupt question and subconsciously replied, “Isn’t it the relationship between superior and subordinate?”
While it did touch on some peculiar preferences of the superior, it was indeed a very simple superior-subordinate relationship.
Moreover, the main issue arose from Evan himself.
Evan was completely stunned.
Superior and subordinate? In Yan Chuan’s eyes, did their relationship not go any further?
Shouldn’t he at least acknowledge his unilateral desires? Adding a negatively connoted adjective wouldn’t hurt.
Evan felt a bit anxious, but the pretty little staff member remained quietly at his side, focused only on the snacks before him.
After a long pause without anyone picking up their chopsticks, the dishes the waiter brought had cooled slightly.
Evan felt a bit incoherent.
“But…” He wanted to reflect on the moments shared with Yan Chuan, looking for signs that the other had feelings for him, but Yan Chuan always had a detached expression, either saying he had injured him with too much force or that his cuffs were uncomfortable.
He even told him not to think about touching him every time they met; it was very perverse.
Evan found it hard to argue, as what Yan Chuan said was indeed true.
He could only reflect on his own faults.
Some little staff members, who seemed to have a good temper, made their bosses unable to eat or sleep well, needing to consider their every word and action before they met.
Evan frowned deeply.
Looking at it this way, it seemed he really didn’t have anything that could win someone over.
The only asset he could claim was being a virgin for over twenty years.
“Is there really nothing special about me?” Evan was relentless, asking, “For example…?”
Yan Chuan made a sound, questioning him back, “For example what?”
For instance, Evan also knew he was a bit perverse and needed to change, never to remain an unusual leg enthusiast again?
And he wouldn’t propose such licking or touching requests anymore?
But Evan didn’t specify the examples he should have brought up.
His expression was somewhat blank and dazed, entirely lacking his usual calm demeanor.
He resembled a large dog that had chased after its master, only to be nudged away slightly, bewildered and hurt.
Yan Chuan cleared his throat softly.
He thought for a moment and added, “For example, maybe… liking me a little?”
Clearly, Evan was surprised by his words or thought they shared a different kind of relationship.
Well, after all, Evan was a sponsor in the livestream, and the clothes he was sent by the top donors were ones he couldn’t wear in public; it was somewhat of a different relationship.
Yan Chuan said this, undoubtedly having learned from the livestream.
After being bombarded with flattery for a long time, he could casually speak words that were often meant to charm men.
Like him?
Evan selectively ignored Yan Chuan’s preceding qualifier and quickly mentally turned “a little” into “very much.”
Yan Chuan was so reserved, he must be too shy to say he liked him very much; only saying he liked him a little must mean he liked him very much, right?
Evan’s heart raced.
“Really…” The joyous emotion made him dazed, and he instinctively asked, “Do you like me?”
The pretty little staff member earnestly looked at him and nodded.
Evan felt incredibly anxious.
He had never confessed his feelings to anyone, so he couldn’t find the right words; the sentences that came out were choppy and fragmented.
Long-awaited nervousness spread in Evan’s heart, and fearing Yan Chuan would misunderstand him, he quickly added, “Not a little, but very much.”
He didn’t know where to place his hands and feet, wanting to pull him into his arms and express how much he liked him. Yet he worried that Yan Chuan would think he was being forward, a shallow man who only said he liked someone after a short time together.
