“Can we play with you?” A strange voice suddenly chimed in, coming from Ke Li’s side, filled with enthusiasm. “Many people in the team are free, and I think they would love to game with you.”
Yan Chuan: “Huh?”
There were faint sounds coming from Ke Li’s microphone, as if someone was trying to take over the mic, lowering their voice. “How did you get in?”
It seemed to be one of his teammates, who innocently replied, “You didn’t close the door, I’ve been calling you from outside for a while, but you didn’t hear me.”
Ke Li’s lowered voice sounded somewhat irritated, while his teammate’s tone was upbeat, as if in a good mood.
The strange voice shifted gears and said into the mic, “I’m his teammate, Lian Zhan, and I play pretty well too. Why not consider me, ‘Little Bunny Sweetheart’?”
[I’m doomed, I’m doomed]
[Is there really a team of five players and three substitutes in Ke Li’s team? They must all be eager to play with his girlfriend.]
[Imagining a pretty rookie surrounded by eight professional players, who all enjoy special perks before and after the game.]
[I’m finished. I remember Lian Zhan is a sweet-talking green tea guy, and compared to the bad-tempered and uncompromising Ke Li… he surely can’t compete.]
[Oh Ke Li, how did you get your home invaded again? But considering how beautiful your girlfriend is, wearing multiple hats is still a huge love for you.]
Yan Chuan was taken aback.
So Ke Li’s teammates also wanted to play games with him?
Ignoring Lian Zhan’s tone when he called his ID, Yan Chuan hesitated and emphasized, “But I’m really not good at it.”
Aren’t they afraid of being dragged down by him?
Lian Zhan immediately grabbed Ke Li’s mic and began to push him away playfully. “How is that possible?”
His clear youthful voice came through the computer; he seemed younger than Ke Li, very articulate, making sure to slight others in the process.
“Everyone else on our team welcomes beginners, it’s only the captain… ah, no, a few people dislike connecting with others.”
Ke Li, in a fit of anger, snatched the headset away, gritting his teeth, “What are you talking about?”
After grabbing the mic, he immediately explained, “Don’t listen to his nonsense; he’s the one who likes to play solo.”
Lian Zhan lazily responded, “But I never scolded anyone as ‘bad’ after teaming up with them.”
He stood behind Ke Li, leaning against the back of the chair. “Come on, how can you be such a scoundrel? Not only don’t you want to help others level up, but you also say such things about them?”
Ke Li: …
What does this guy mean!
Angered, he immediately muted the mic to prevent the audience from hearing his curses.
Once muted and ensuring “Little Bunny Sweetheart” couldn’t hear him, Ke Li quickly stood up, deeply frowning, “What are you doing?”
Lian Zhan shrugged, “Whatever you want to do, I’ll think of doing the same.”
Ke Li glared at him, “Get lost! Stop thinking!”
The very teammate who praised “Little Bunny Sweetheart” for her beauty was the same one who snatched his mic to talk bad about him in the live stream, intent on causing trouble!
Lian Zhan, however, wasn’t fazed; he relaxed and stared at the beautiful little streamer, exclaiming, “Captain, don’t overdo it. Just because you can pursue her, doesn’t mean others won’t want to as well.”
“And with so many fans in ‘Little Bunny Sweetheart’s’ stream and a new top supporter, are you not worried they might want to compete with you?”
Ke Li felt like a battle was looming.
Lian Zhan’s attitude wasn’t the main concern; the barrage of comments from the fans was one thing, but that new top supporter was definitely not to be taken lightly.
Not only did he bombard the beautiful streamer with gifts, but he also cleverly revealed Ke Li’s identity, making him nearly believe he’d be blocked on all his alternate accounts.
He certainly wasn’t a good person.
Ke Li’s gaze fell on Lian Zhan’s smiling face; he moved his lips and asked, “What do you want to say?”
Lian Zhan just smiled.
After a brief disconnection, Ke Li came back online.
He cleared his throat, “The competition is only on Monday and Tuesday, but we can still squeeze it in the evenings. If you’re willing, we can stream together.”
Lian Zhan, still in the room, grinned and added, “Little Streamer can pick whoever she wants.”
Yan Chuan sensed there was something more to Lian Zhan’s words, but he nodded, “Sure.”
After all, it was a joint stream; the other’s fans outnumbered his, and it could count as getting some attention.
The streaming time ended quickly.
Yan Chuan observed that his followers had surged from two hundred thousand at the start to over six hundred thousand. At this rate, he would soon break into the top hundred streamer rankings.
Many new followers were drawn in from homepage recommendations, spamming comments like “Wife, kisses” and “Wife so spicy.” Some were fans of Ke Li, coming over from his stream.
Of course, some also came from watching Ke Li and Qi Yan competing while showering gifts in his live stream, eager to see what kind of streamer could attract so much attention.
In short, it was a very fruitful day.
Yan Chuan exited the live stream.
He rubbed his forehead; although the atmosphere in the stream was harmonious, staring at the computer screen for so long had left him a bit drained.
Glancing at the time, nearly eleven o’clock, Yan Chuan decided to wash his face and head to bed.
He changed into loose sleepwear and curled up under the blankets when suddenly he saw a new message.
“Are you asleep yet?”
The sender was Qi Yan, his new financial backer.
Yan Chuan shifted to a position on the bed and replied, “Not yet, almost.”
Their last message had been Qi Yan asking if he could buy a pair of his socks.
Yan Chuan glanced at the pair of socks he had left on the chair.
An ordinary pair of long socks, soft and piled on the chair surface. The edges of the socks were slightly tight, leaving a red mark on the base of his legs.
The skin there was pale and delicate, the red imprint very noticeable, as if someone had pinched it.
He had agreed to it, but he still found it strange.
