The Storm was massive and cumbersome, struggling to move out of the mech bay, leaving deep grooves on the ground that looked like scars, progressing with the speed of a slow-moving snail.
Lu Ting tried to make it perform some actions, but this only twisted its already uncoordinated limbs even more. Several mechanics had anticipated this outcome.
They linked to the internal cabin of ‘Storm’ through the built-in voice system and reminded, “You might want to come out; forcing it too hard could harm your mental sea.”
“No, I just haven’t adapted yet,” Lu Ting replied stubbornly, his voice strained with effort.
After struggling for a few minutes, the Storm could no longer support itself and crashed to the ground with a loud thud.
The entire building shook along with it.
When the cabin opened, Lu Ting crawled out, drenched in sweat and covered in dust, looking quite comical.
“Are you okay?”
Several mechanics rushed to him, handing him a towel.
Lu Ting took the towel and glared at Tong Sui, growling, “There’s something wrong with this mech’s power settings. There are only a few buttons on the control panel; who designed this?”
“This…”
The mechanics exchanged glances before one of them finally said, “The Storm relies heavily on mental power, so it’s normal for you not to adapt.”
“Are you saying my mental power isn’t high enough?” Lu Ting countered. “Then I’d like to see what kind of performance this S-class mental power can achieve.”
The mechanics looked eagerly at Tong Sui, their attitudes vastly different.
“Do you want to give it a try?”
“Yes, you should try; only you can save the Storm now.”
Tong Sui was also uncertain.
“Don’t worry, my lord,” Bai Xingluo whispered to Tong Sui. “I’ll accompany you inside.”
“Alright then.”
Tong Sui slowly approached the iron giant, stepping up the slope and jumping into the cockpit.
Inside the cabin, a large transparent panel revealed that there were indeed only a few buttons on the control console.
There was power and emergency brakes.
Several lines linked to the mental sea looked particularly cybernetic.
Bai Xingluo quickly scanned the cabin and understood the mech’s structure.
“Through these sensory lines, you can achieve resonance with this mech, eliminating the need for complicated manual operations.”
Bai Xingluo glanced at the co-pilot seat, suddenly feeling embarrassed and coughing lightly. “If you need, I can assist you, but we must first merge our mental seas.”
Tong Sui asked in confusion, “How do you assist?”
“Release your mental power slowly; I will sense it.”
Tong Sui could now control his mental power fairly well.
He gently released a wisp of mental power, and a soft, sweet essence flowed forth.
Fortunately, the cabin door was tightly closed, preventing any excess mental power from leaking out; otherwise, such a level of mental power could cause a violent disturbance.
“Is this how it works?”
For Bai Xingluo, this was a test of consciousness, and his alabaster cheeks suddenly flushed.
“Yes, next I’ll release my mental power.”
As another intense wave of mental power was released, it intertwined with Tong Sui’s, creating a fascinating sensation.
What they felt was the same: heartbeats, breaths, and consciousness synchronized.
This was resonance.
Outside, the others were unaware of what was happening inside and looked up anxiously.
“Why is there still no movement after such a long time?”
“Could something have gone wrong? It was fine during repairs.”
“It seems your design really is inadequate,” Lu Ting said, wiping his face clean and tossing the towel aside. “Oh, he wouldn’t still be figuring it out, would he?”
Just as he finished speaking, the fallen Storm seemed to be reborn, suddenly leaping high into the air.
A sharp wind swept through, stirring up countless grains of sand.
Nearly all the bugs in the camp were attracted by this sound, looking up to see the spectacle.
The Storm, previously ridiculed by the star network as a walking target, soared into the sky, transforming into magnificent forms in broad daylight, showcasing its true beauty like a cold, glistening blade.
It was as if they saw the imperial star’s former glory.
The empire was saved.
If that moment was merely their illusion, the true strength demonstrated by the Storm far exceeded any mechs they had seen before.
Only minutes later did its pure white figure descend from midair.
A group of military females regained their senses from the shock, their blood boiling, a flicker of hope igniting in their hearts.
“Is that really the walking target?”
“Who is piloting it?”
“I heard it’s that new male bug.”
“Is it really that beautiful male bug? No way; he looks more like an exquisite doll. How could he control such a giant mech?”
“Ladies, I found out he recently underwent a second transformation to S-Class. The royal family considers him a foster son now.”
“S-Class? My goodness!?”
The group of military females quickly opened the star network, which they hadn’t accessed for a long time.
They researched, and their expressions grew complex, as if petrified with disbelief.
They had just been so disrespectful to that prince!
They had even spoken rudely to him.
He could have ignored their lives, yet he had resolutely come to this harsh camp, faced fierce star thieves, and even used his own money to buy medicine for them.
“We truly deserve to die.”
“How could we treat him with such an attitude? How heartbroken must Prince Tong Sui be? Oh my goodness, I just want to go back and do it all over again.”
