“Beep beep beep!!!”
At that moment, an alarm suddenly sounded from the hospital room behind them, and red lights began to flash.
All the female insects were startled.
Only York’s eyes lit up with joy, unable to maintain his usual composed demeanor, he shouted, “Lord Tong Sui has reacted!”
He hurriedly pushed open the door to the hospital room and walked briskly inside.
Had a miracle happened?
All the female insects were momentarily uplifted!
They desperately wanted to step into the room, but were afraid that they carried something impure on them, pacing back and forth with red eyes.
It wasn’t until York said, “Come in, the medical pod and hospital room are isolated; there will be no contamination,” that the group of female insects surged in, surrounding the medical pod.
Countless pairs of eyes were fixated on the young male insect inside the pod, with dark hair and pale skin, seemingly more fragile due to the several days of high fever afflicting him.
All the female insects momentarily forgot to breathe.
They dared not blink, hoping that when this male insect awakened, he would see them first; that would surely be a blessing from the heavens.
Tong Sui, lying in the medical pod, was in a daze, feeling as if he were an oxygen-deprived fish, yearning for the coolness he sought before fainting, but he could not find it no matter what.
He furrowed his brows and whispered, “Luo Luo…”
He tried to grasp at something in the air but touched nothing, leaving him feeling even more agitated.
In his struggle, it seemed that the back of his hand hit something.
All the female insects were still in a daze.
The next second, the glass cover of the medical pod opened automatically.
A familiar sweet fragrance wafted out, and upon smelling it again, all the female insects went nearly mad, the heat within them surging like bitter tea, almost revealing their feelings in an instant.
Yet the sensations, seamlessly connected, returned more intensely than before.
This fragrance was indeed the same as the last time; however, the potency it brought was far clearer and more intense this time.
And the source of all this remained oblivious, lying there.
Who could withstand this?!
The closest female insect had clear insect markings appear on her cheeks; she lost all rationality and lunged forward but was pinned down to the ground by a slightly more rational Lu Yuyi.
“Lord, why aren’t you awake yet?”
“I’m about to be driven mad by you, can’t you wake up and see us?”
Her ears were filled with the rambling voices of female insects.
Lu Yuyi pressed down on the trembling arm of the female insect, his eyes struggling between reason and chaos.
The aroma spread like mist throughout the room, and even more female insects gathered outside the hospital bed.
Their eyes were scarlet, and the lower-ranked nurse insects were unable to maintain their original forms, instinctively moving closer.
Meanwhile, the medical pod remained open, with no signs of the lord fully waking up.
If chaos erupted here, the demands of so many female insects would only exacerbate the already sickly state of the lord’s body.
Lu Yuyi bit down hard on the back of his hand.
The pain temporarily restored his clarity; he knelt and moved to the side of the medical pod to press the button.
The glass cover began to close slowly.
After completing this, Lu Yuyi knelt on the ground, feeling like he had just been pulled out of water, his entire form soaked.
The fragrance in the air lost its source, most of it quickly taken away by the central air conditioning.
The crazed female insects regained some semblance of rationality.
They looked at each other’s familiar expressions, but involuntarily lowered their gazes, noticing they all had the same reaction and the same stains, so no one laughed at anyone else.
The one most impacted by the shock was undoubtedly York.
He was standing closest, and the prolonged calmness of his mental power was merely a facade, akin to a small boat sailing on the sea that capsized after hitting a reef.
If this situation were to occur a few more times, he truly felt he would die.
But even if he were to die, he would welcome it.
He wholeheartedly believed what the female insects had said, feeling that it surpassed all expectations; in the face of such absolute attraction, his professionalism was crushed to pieces.
At that moment, the exterior display of the medical pod suddenly began to beep.
York finally drove those chaotic thoughts from his mind, struggling to lift his head and saw the monitor’s previously stable values starting to fluctuate violently.
Wait, what was that value?!
Mental power level?
York suspected his eyes were deceiving him; how could there be such a significant fluctuation?
Having practiced medicine for so long, this was the first time he had witnessed such fluctuations in a male insect outside of the differentiation stage, and the magnitude far exceeded his imagination.
Other female insects also noticed the changes in these values.
Each mental power level corresponded to a quantifiable value.
For example, a D-class male insect’s mental capacity was around 1000, and each advancement required values multiplied, increasingly demanding dozens of times more at higher levels.
The displayed value began to fluctuate from 1000, dropping to 0, then exploding into six digits in the next second.
It then oscillated within the six-digit range, never dropping below that threshold again.
“Is, is the instrument malfunctioning?”
All the female insects gasped.
A six-digit number represented the top-tier A-class male insects, and just minutes before, this value had only been one thousand.
The difference was akin to a chasm.
A-class male insects were few even in the entire Empire, and could even be considered a resource for consolidating power.
Let alone one without a female lord; if it were true, countless female insects would be fighting to get to him.
York approached the instrument, checking it meticulously, his expression a bit complicated.
“What’s happening? Is it really a malfunction?”
“Hurry and say something!”
York replied, “The instrument is functioning normally.”
