The places that were touched felt like falling droplets, watering his heart thoroughly.
Zhong Yi couldn’t help but take a deep breath, as even the tip of his nose was filled with Tong Sui’s faint fragrance.
He stood there, allowing Tong Sui to turn off the microphone.
Tong Sui walked to the camera in the room and covered it with something.
All of the screens went dark.
No one knew what they were going to do in the room, but this unusual action led to much speculation.
The bullet comments flooded with guesses:
—???
—Alone, microphone off, black screen, discussing private matters, what are they up to?
—So it turns out Suisui’s wife likes Zhong Yi?
—Where is Chi Xingyu? Your wife is about to run off with another dog!!
Zhong Yi was also confused by his action of covering the camera. His rationality floated away with these movements, and each breath became exceptionally heavy.
He watched as Tong Sui searched for something in the room, feeling a bit light-headed, his heart being squeezed repeatedly like it was being kneaded by a hand, a mix of soreness and numbness.
Tong Sui found what he was looking for and turned around, holding a piece of stationery.
Zhong Yi’s mind went blank instantly.
What does this mean?
Did she write him a love letter because she was too shy to confess in person?
If Zhong Yi were in a rational state, he would certainly think it was impossible, but after everything that just happened, he found himself in a hazy stage.
Perhaps even if Tong Sui yelled at him now, he would wonder why she was only scolding him and not others; she must have feelings for him.
He felt unique.
So in love.
As Tong Sui approached, Zhong Yi noticed it was filled with dense writing, and he could vaguely see words like “like” and “together.”
Zhong Yi’s face was already so hot it felt like it was about to burn. He struggled to regain some rationality and began to ponder the current situation.
As a member of the Zhong family, how could he let the person he liked confess to him first?
This was shameful, rude, and completely against their upbringing.
Tong Sui stood in front of him and began, “I want—”
Zhong Yi raised his hand to interrupt, “You don’t need to say anything; I already know.”
Tong Sui was stunned, incredulously asking, “How do you know?”
He had specifically invited Zhong Yi to find out about this matter so that no one else would know. By blocking the camera, he intended to use the Zhong family’s influence in S City to investigate.
Zhong Yi said, “It’s better if I initiate this.”
His expression seemed like he was preparing for a solemn ceremony, different from his usual air of disdain, now showing extraordinary seriousness.
Serious to the point of being unusual.
“Tong Sui, I like you.”
After speaking, he suddenly hugged Tong Sui, accidentally brushing against his cheek, which was burning hot.
Tong Sui froze.
This was the second time he had encountered an off-air confession on the show.
The first time was Chi Xingyu.
But wait.
Zhong Yi seemed to have misunderstood something.
Tong Sui patted his back, struggling, “Zhong Yi, you can’t think I was going to confess to you, right?”
Now it was Zhong Yi who was stunned, maintaining the hug but being dumbfounded by Tong Sui’s words.
“N-No, is it not?”
Tong Sui stepped out of his embrace, presenting the items in his hand, “I just wanted you to help me see if we could use this letter and card to find out who is behind it.”
Zhong Yi stared blankly as he took them, but his mind was still trying to comprehend. It was as if he had been on a roller coaster, with a dizzying drop at the end, leaving him in tatters.
His mind was filled with one phrase: how could it be like this?
He had misunderstood.
Seeing him standing there in a daze, Tong Sui waved a hand in front of him,
“Zhong Yi?”
After being called multiple times, Zhong Yi barely came to his senses, though his gaze was still a bit vacant.
“Is it very difficult?” Tong Sui frowned, thinking that if they had a bank card, checking for the name of the account holder should be quite simple.
Seeing him frown, Zhong Yi felt uncomfortable and quickly reassured, “It’s not difficult. I’ll send someone to investigate.”
The Zhong family had a significant influence in the real estate industry and had grown from S City; there was nothing they couldn’t accomplish in this area.
Investigating a person was merely simple work.
After hearing his words, Tong Sui felt relieved, “Thank you, Zhong Yi. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
Zhong Yi felt a bit embarrassed by the gratitude, the earlier misunderstanding of his confession no longer on his mind.
He looked down to carefully examine the content written on the stationery and instantly felt annoyed.
Damn.
He had originally wondered what could make Tong Sui seek him out, only to find it was this disgusting trash.
“How dare they disturb you with this? Truly asking for trouble. Don’t worry; I’ll call someone to check right now.”
After Zhong Yi made the call, it would take a little time on that end to verify.
So, Tong Sui uncovered the camera.
The bullet comments exploded:
—???
—How is it so fast?
—Weren’t they just sneaking around? Why are they still so neatly dressed; this is disappointing!
The two descended from the second floor one after the other.
In the first-floor hall, Chi Xingyu heard the noise and quickly looked over, his gaze bouncing back and forth between the two before settling entirely on Tong Sui.
Tong Sui felt uncomfortable under his relentless stare, walking over to sit on the sofa, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“What were you doing up there?”
Tong Sui grabbed some snacks from the table, tore them open, and popped them into his mouth, “Nothing much.”
That kind of dismissive answer, without even trying to fabricate an excuse, made it hard for Chi Xingyu not to overthink whether they were doing something intimate up there.
