She quickly embraced Tong Sui.
“This is our love nest that we created together!”
Tong Sui was tackled back and fell onto the grass, using his hands to support himself.
Zhong Yi reacted swiftly and hurried to get up.
“I didn’t mean it, are you okay? Does it hurt?”
Beside them, Chi Xingyu frowned, crouching down to check Tong Sui’s palm. Seeing it was only slightly red, she felt relieved and said to Zhong Yi, “Are you a dog? Why are you so excited?”
“I…”
Zhong Yi hung her head under the reprimand. If it weren’t for Tong Sui, she wouldn’t be standing there getting lectured.
“I’m fine.”
The grass was soft enough; Tong Sui only felt a little numb from the fall. He looked at Zhong Yi, who was sulking and staring at the ground.
It was quite inconsistent with her tall image.
Tong Sui said, “I’m not mad at you; in fact, you set the tent up quite well.”
Just a compliment, and Zhong Yi, who had been gloomy a moment ago, lifted her head and smugly snorted at Chi Xingyu.
Chi Xingyu: “…”.
Someone needs guidance for such a simple thing; what’s there to be proud of?
After finishing up on their side, they went to assist the other three who were handling the ingredients.
The production team prepared a barbecue grill for them, so everyone rushed to handle the food as the sky began to darken.
A bonfire was lit just outside the tent.
Along with the flames from the barbecue grill, they sat around it, a cooler stuffed with chilled beer nearby.
After a busy day, everyone was already feeling famished.
Barbecue doesn’t require culinary skills; as long as it’s cooked through, it won’t taste too bad.
Under the gentle firelight, the others were drinking, and Tong Sui poured himself a cup.
Knowing his own tolerance, he didn’t dare drink too much, finishing this cup before deciding not to refill it.
After eating and drinking enough, Tong Sui sat on a small stool and yawned.
“Can I take a break for a while?”
He asked the production team.
Chi Xingyu, sitting beside him, noticed the sparkle in Tong Sui’s eyes lit by the orange light. Is he really just a little pig? Why does he want to sleep after eating?
Considering that others were still chatting, the production team allowed Tong Sui to rest first.
Tong Sui crawled into the closest tent, as there was a heat source nearby, so it wouldn’t get too cold at night. The production team had even prepared warm blankets for them.
Chi Xingyu listened absentmindedly to their conversation, most of which was business-related, something she found utterly uninteresting.
The Chi family’s business was no less than that of the other participants, and living in such an environment from a young age, Chi Xingyu felt no affinity for it, having seen more than her fair share of ugly faces revealing themselves for profit.
In their social class, there was no need to fall out over trivial benefits, yet she was unwilling to be trapped in such an environment, pretending to get along with that crowd.
Chi Xingyu’s gaze unconsciously drifted, landing on the tent not far away.
Tong Sui was all wrapped up in the blanket, clearly fast asleep, lying quietly with only a slender ankle exposed.
Chi Xingyu chuckled lightly, as if finding a release, and got up to walk over.
Others also stopped their conversations.
Chi Xingyu wasn’t sure why she went over—was it simply to escape the conversation she disliked, or did she want to be closer to Tong Sui, or maybe it was both.
Chi Xingyu didn’t enter the tent; instead, she tucked Tong Sui’s exposed ankle back under the blanket before pulling a chair to sit beside him.
She looked down and started playing on her phone.
The phone was set to silent mode, and the screen swirled with a dizzying array of colors as her agile fingers moved.
Yet, Chi Xingyu maintained an expressionless face while continuing to play.
Seeing Chi Xingyu make no extra movements, others withdrew their gaze.
After all, this was filming, and Chi Xingyu couldn’t do anything out of line.
She played many rounds of games, winning each time, looking entirely absorbed, though her mind had long since drifted elsewhere.
She glanced at her hand, which had just touched Tong Sui’s ankle.
So slender, it could be enclosed in one hand, making one wonder if it would break easily.
Tong Sui’s cheeks bore the remnants of baby fat, making him appear quite young, creating an illusion that there was a bit more flesh on him. Still, his frame was delicate, and he was quite thin compared to other boys.
The night deepened, and the bonfire dimmed slightly compared to earlier.
Though no one mentioned it, how to allocate tents that night became the most pressing issue on everyone’s mind.
The production team said, “Having spent so long together, I’m sure you have a decent understanding of each other. This time, the challenge tests your ability to identify the guest in front of you using touch or other methods while blindfolded.”
“The participant who correctly identifies the most guests will get the privilege of choosing who to share a tent with tonight.”
What kind of competition is this?
But to earn the right to choose, everyone tacitly agreed.
Tong Sui was woken up to hear the rules and was left with a significant question mark in his mind.
If he couldn’t rely on sight, how was he supposed to identify anyone?
The order of the competition was determined by drawing lots, and unlucky Tong Sui drew the first position.
The production team handed him a black strip of cloth.
Once he tied it on, he could see nothing at all. Coupled with just waking up and having drunk a beer, he even found it slightly challenging to stand steady.
Upon putting on the black cloth, the atmosphere in the venue seemed to tense for a moment.
Tong Sui’s fair skin became even more pronounced without his eyes visible. He resembled a helpless lamb, innocent and pitiful yet provoking one’s imagination.
Tong Sui quietly asked, “Can we start now?”
The production team responded, “Of course.”
