Tong Sui tilted his head, “Why are you so tense?”
He was just casually asking.
He wasn’t that opposed to smokers.
Zhong Yi replied, “N-no, it’s nothing.”
He didn’t dare to continue sharing his peculiar theory in front of Tong Sui.
Now that he had someone he liked, his body no longer belonged to him; he needed to maintain a clean and healthy state for his beloved.
Seeing Zhong Yi’s puzzled expression, Tong Sui, feeling there was nothing more to it, yawned and said, “I’m going to sleep now. You guys should get some rest too.”
As Tong Sui walked away, Zhong Yi anxiously turned to Chi Xingyu and said, “I haven’t left him with a bad impression, have I?”
Chi Xingyu scoffed, “Don’t worry, this isn’t your first time.”
Zhong Yi said, “…”
Tong Sui held onto the railing as he went up to the second floor. He had been waiting for Zhong Yi for a while already, so as not to disturb Jiang Ziyan in the room.
He opened the door quietly.
Different from his expectation of a dark room, a warm yellow light was left on.
The faint light illuminated Jiang Ziyan’s cold and sharp features, adding a rare warmth to his appearance. He leaned against the headboard, with a laptop set up in front of him.
Tong Sui gently closed the door, which made a faint “thud.”
When he turned back, Jiang Ziyan had already opened his eyes, silently watching him.
“Is Zhong Yi back?”
Tong Sui nodded, “Yeah, why aren’t you sleeping yet?”
He was wrapped in a blanket, sitting on the bed next to him.
They didn’t have much time alone together, especially now with the surrounding silence and darkness, creating an unexplainable atmosphere compared to the daytime.
Jiang Ziyan closed his laptop and set it aside.
“I saw you weren’t back, so I wanted to wait for you.”
Perhaps because he had a rather indifferent face, these words sounded like romantic confessions coming from his mouth.
It caused Tong Sui to pause for a few seconds before he slowly responded, “You can sleep first next time. It’s tiring to wait.”
Having just napped on the sofa earlier, Tong Sui truly felt this.
He covered himself with the blanket and lay back down, sighing contentedly.
Jiang Ziyan turned to look at him.
Tong Sui was too easily satisfied; the warm light reflected on his eyelashes, making them sparkle like they were coated with glitter. He looked like a warm slice of cheese, baked to perfection.
The distance between the two beds wasn’t far at all; if Jiang Ziyan wanted to, he could easily reach out and touch Tong Sui’s soft cheek.
However, Jiang Ziyan didn’t find waiting all that hard; it felt more like a novel experience.
It was like a wife waiting for her husband to come home…
Jiang Ziyan asked, “Do you like Zhong Yi?”
Tong Sui, who had been narrowing his eyes and humming, opened his eyes in disbelief and turned his head, “How could that be?”
“Well, your taste shouldn’t be that bad,” Jiang Ziyan said indifferently. “Zhong Yi is the only son at home, and his personality is quite different. If you respond to him, he’ll probably think of a lot of things, and it’ll be hard for you to pull away.”
Thinking about what happened tonight, Tong Sui pursed his lips.
Jiang Ziyan was right about everything.
However, he still felt something was off.
Jiang Ziyan continued, “Instead of deciding who to write your love letter to by drawing lots, why don’t you just write it to me?”
Tong Sui looked confused, “Huh?”
“This could be considered a form of collaboration. When you find someone you truly like, you can write your letters to them at any time,” Jiang Ziyan explained. “This way, you won’t feel conflicted daily, and it won’t hurt other people by giving them false hopes.”
By late night, the number of viewers had decreased significantly, but there was suddenly another wave of bullet comments in the livestream:
—— Mr. Jiang, you really know how to play the game.
—— First, you give a seemingly objective analysis of Zhong Yi, but it’s actually all underhanded. Then you bring up this ‘collaboration’ to write letters. You truly are full of surprises!
—— ? This could work?
—— Sui Bao, run away!
…
Tong Sui hesitated at his words, “Is that really okay?”
The heart-stirring letter could only be written to one person a day, which was the most direct way to express one’s feelings, and its significance was evident.
Jiang Ziyan replied, “The rules don’t say you can’t write to the same person consecutively.”
Doing so would be completely compliant with the regulations.
Jiang Ziyan had helped him resolve a dilemma, and Tong Sui said, “Thank you.”
The bullet comments flooded with remarks:
—— Sui Bao is too easy to deceive.
—— Zhong Yi is crying in the bathroom.
—— How are you so adorable, thanking him? It’s like being sold and still helping count the money!
Jiang Ziyan gently curled his lips in a smile, nodded, and reached out to turn off the small lamp.
“It’s getting late. Rest now.”
Tong Sui was already very sleepy, and after the lights went out, he quickly fell asleep.
The next day.
When he woke up, the bed next to him was already empty.
Tong Sui remembered that Jiang Ziyan had a habit of going for a morning run, so he rolled over and went back to sleep.
He couldn’t understand how Jiang Ziyan had the energy to run so early after sleeping so late.
When Tong Sui woke up from his nap, he heard the sound of water from the bathroom.
He sat up groggily.
His fluffy hair was a mess, his cheeks were flushed from sleep, and he blankly stared at the opened bathroom door.
Warm steam and a pleasant aroma wafted out as Jiang Ziyan emerged, wearing a white towel over his head, his black hair dripping with water, and he wore only a simple set of clothes that appeared even more casual than usual.
“Did I wake you?”
Tong Sui shook his head; he didn’t even know when Jiang Ziyan had come back.
Jiang Ziyan sat in a chair drying his hair, and as he lifted his arm, the already loose sleeves of his shirt slid down a bit.
