At first, Jiang Ci Yan, who had been working in the office, was unaware of when he raised his head. He nodded at Chi Xing Yu, which was his way of greeting.
Chi Xing Yu couldn’t care less about why Jiang Ci Yan was helping him; he followed Zhou Zhe into the car and headed for the location given by the program team.
Seeing this, Zhong Yi quickly followed suit.
The two arrived at the pottery studio almost simultaneously. Through the glass window, they spotted Tong Sui and Zhou Si Yuan sitting on small stools inside.
They sat closely together, facing a spinning wheel, working on the same clay piece, and their muddy fingers occasionally “accidentally” collided.
Chi Xing Yu felt like a stray dog locked outside, watching another dog happily interact from within. He couldn’t wrap his head around why he felt this way since he believed he had nothing to be envious of.
Determined, Chi Xing Yu forcefully pushed open the pottery studio door, and with the chime of a wind bell, the shop owner looked up.
The owner was a young and beautiful girl who never expected to host so many attractive guests in one day.
When Tong Sui and Zhou Si Yuan arrived, she felt a bit dizzy, but the sight of the following cameras helped her regain her composure.
Although she didn’t recognize them, it was clear they were probably artists.
She just didn’t expect more guests to arrive.
What a great day for the studio—with so many distinct styles of handsome men all at once!
After some excitement, the owner regained her composure and thought about how the show would be broadcasted. To avoid embarrassment, she took a few deep breaths and calmly said, “Are you two here together?”
“Who is with him?”
Chi Xing Yu and Zhong Yi replied in unison, stepping a couple of paces back from each other.
Their voices reached Tong Sui’s ears.
Tong Sui looked up and was surprised to see the two figures blocking the entrance, exclaiming, “What are you two doing here?”
Compared to Tong Sui’s evident surprise, Zhou Si Yuan beside him remained much calmer.
As expected, the production team wasn’t that kind after all.
The pottery studio was quite spacious, but Zhong Yi and Chi Xing Yu tacitly chose seats near Tong Sui.
What initially was just a scene with Tong Sui became crowded.
The shop owner distributed aprons to them all.
While listening to the instructions, Chi Xing Yu’s attention was primarily on Tong Sui beside him.
Tong Sui focused intently on molding the clay in front of him, his white fingers stained with dark clay, and he had somehow smudged a bit on his cheek.
However, he was quite clean overall.
Under Tong Sui’s careful crafting, the clay gradually took the form of a cup.
Tong Sui curled his lips in satisfaction, revealing a hint of delight within.
Chi Xing Yu couldn’t help but chuckle, thinking how childish it all seemed; who could be so happy playing in the mud?
At that moment, another pair of hands reached over, fiddling with Tong Sui’s fingers like a creeping vine. Zhou Si Yuan leaned in and softly said in his ear, “Don’t you think it would look better if you smooth it out a bit more here?”
Tong Sui replied, “It seems that way.”
The sight deeply pierced Chi Xing Yu’s heart.
He watched Tong Sui, obliviously being touched, and feeling like an idiot for not noticing the closeness—mere centimeters separated them.
He felt an unexplainable heat in his eyes and managed to say hoarsely, “Tong Sui.”
Called by name, Tong Sui turned to him.
Chi Xing Yu’s expression darkened, although it softened a little when Tong Sui looked over; still, the displeasure was evident in his demeanor.
Maybe he just wasn’t interested in doing these crafts.
Tong Sui, thinking it was a task arranged by the production team, asked, “Shouldn’t we be able to leave after we finish?”
To Chi Xing Yu’s ears, this was like a spark igniting a flame.
Did Tong Sui really want him to leave quickly?
Chi Xing Yu’s face darkened further, capable of squeezing out water, just like when he had no qualms about pulling Tong Sui’s chair, forcibly dragging him in front of himself.
“But I don’t want to leave yet.”
Tong Sui was startled by his sudden action.
He lost his balance and instinctively grabbed onto Chi Xing Yu’s arm, leaving a clear muddy handprint on his clean white shirt.
He just got Chi Xing Yu’s clothes dirty.
Tong Sui felt instant guilt and completely forgot about questioning Chi Xing Yu’s unreasonable behavior.
However, Chi Xing Yu didn’t notice the stain on his shirt; his focus remained on Tong Sui. “Don’t you like playing with clay? You’re responsible for this now.”
Tong Sui widened his eyes.
Who said they liked playing with clay?!
But as he caught sight of the black handprint on Chi Xing Yu’s sleeve and realized he might as well take responsibility for one or two pieces, he obediently resumed playing with the clay.
Chi Xing Yu crossed his arms nearby, observing like a hardened supervisor bullying a diligent worker underneath him.
The audience watching couldn’t hold back any longer:
— Do you have thorns growing on your hands? Why are you so far away?
— Sui Bao: Feeling wronged
— Are you okay? If not, switch it up.
Compared to those involved, the audience was far more anxious than them.
Unaware of the audience’s remarks, Chi Xing Yu seemed to receive some sort of hint and finally made a move.
Leaning in a bit closer, he faintly caught a whiff of a light fragrance from Tong Sui; it wasn’t like any detergent scent but rather a warm, indescribable aroma.
Tong Sui was seriously completing the task Chi Xing Yu had given him, completely oblivious to the actions of the person beside him.
Chi Xing Yu edged even closer.
At this proximity, the only thing left in his view was Tong Sui.
Chi Xing Yu had never observed anyone so attentively; his gaze swept down the length of Tong Sui’s long eyelashes, past his delicate nose, and lingered excessively on his lips.
When Tong Sui was focused, his lips would instinctively pout slightly, making his otherwise subtle lip beads stick out like water droplets resting atop his lips.
