Looking at the table, I couldn’t help but compare it with what the guests ate in the previous two seasons.
Other guests noticed the food was ready and eagerly gathered around.
Sang Cai exclaimed, “Doctor Zhou, you are incredible! I can’t wait to write you a letter!”
Though it was a joke, everyone laughed.
Even the most difficult person to please, Zhong Yi, couldn’t help but exclaim, “I’m amazed you really made it. It’s so magical!”
“It’s all thanks to everyone; I couldn’t have done it on my own,” Zhou Siyuan said. “Let’s all sit down and eat.”
Tong Sui sat in the same spot as yesterday.
After a busy morning, everyone was starving, especially Sang Cai, who devoured a whole bowl of rice, completely forgetting about weight control.
Tong Sui squinted with happiness, like a little cat, and said, “Doctor Zhou, it’s really great to have you here.”
Zhou Siyuan replied, “If you like it, I can cook for you from now on.”
“Okay!” Tong Sui responded, then realized, “No, that’s not good. It would be too tiring; we can take turns.”
The bullet screen was filled with comments like “They match so well ahhh,” “This couple is so sweet,” and “I no longer remember how many pairs I’ve supported.” “+1, who is Chi Xingyu? I don’t recognize him anymore.”
“Heh.”
Chi Xingyu’s grip on the tablet turned white from exertion as he looked at Tong Sui’s smiling face, his eyes reddening.
He learned from this show that Kid’s real name was Tong Sui, but they had no intersection; compared to him, Tong Sui seemed to prefer that doctor named Zhou Siyuan.
Gentle, able to cook, stable in his career.
Each point was the opposite of him as Chi Xingyu clenched his jaw.
Chi Xingyu felt he was crazy for spending 24 hours in the live stream, obsessively observing every reaction from Kid like a creep.
Including his attitude toward everyone, every word he spoke, every blush, and even the letters he wrote to other guests.
He couldn’t count how many times he wanted to recklessly grab Kid back, demanding to know why he was doing this, even to ruin the entire show.
But doing so would only push Kid further away.
Yet, he couldn’t let things continue to develop; for now, it was just colleagues chatting. What about later? Would they kiss? Or do something even more outrageous?
Just thinking about that scene made Chi Xingyu’s heart ache as if his soul was fading little by little.
He couldn’t understand why he was so entangled with someone he had never met; he couldn’t figure it out and only felt more pain the more he thought about it.
“Knock knock.”
The coach’s voice came from outside, “Chi Xingyu, come out, let’s have a good talk. You’ve been shut in; you owe me a reason.”
The room remained silent.
The coach crushed his cigarette butt and said to the nearby administrator, “Go get the spare key, and just open the door.”
“Okay, I’ll do it right now.”
After two minutes, the room door was opened from the outside, becoming the only source of light in the room, as all the windows were covered with heavy curtains.
The only living person in the room was curled up in the gaming chair, the tablet in his hands making sounds and shining lights.
“Chi Xingyu,” the coach walked over and took his tablet away, “Do you remember the first time I saw you? You were also in your room, silently playing games.”
“Your parents didn’t support your pursuing a professional career, so they wanted me to discourage you, to make you give up,” the coach said. “But your performance far exceeded my expectations. Although you won’t admit it, I can see that you’re not treating this lightly.”
“All your honors weren’t given to you by others; they were all earned through your own effort.”
The coach put the tablet on the table and said, “If you’re interested in Kid, you should show the same attitude you had back then—face your feelings more seriously than you do with games.”
Chi Xingyu said, “He doesn’t like someone like me.”
The coach replied, “Are you really going to give up without trying?”
Chi Xingyu fell silent.
“Well, this is your choice,” the coach sighed and turned around. “I initially wanted to tell you that we are looking for a flying guest for a heartbeat segment. I wanted to know your thoughts.”
The coach had just taken two steps when someone pulled him back forcefully.
Chi Xingyu asked, “What did you just say?”
The coach smiled, knowing he couldn’t give up this kid. “They originally invited a flying guest who couldn’t make it, so they’re urgently looking for a substitute. If you want to go, I can help you contact them.”
“Yes, I want to go.” Chi Xingyu said, “When can I go? Can I leave today? I’ll check for flights right now.”
The coach said, “Don’t rush. Let me make a call to ask.”
After some communication, they quickly agreed to let Chi Xingyu attend as a flying guest, originally set to join the show two days later, but after Chi Xingyu’s strong insistence, it was changed to that very day.
“Coming over today will be quite late; you’ll have to transfer after landing,” said the show’s director, Sun Tao. “So first, discuss it with the other guests. Oh, don’t mention who it is yet, let’s keep a bit of surprise.”
“Sure, sure.”
So, after Tong Sui and the others finished their meal, the production team urgently announced this news.
The staff said, “Our first flying guest of this season will arrive at the cabin around this evening; everyone can look forward to it!”
“There’s a flying guest so soon; it’s earlier than the previous two seasons.”
“Are we having a welcome party?”
“Probably not necessary. Should we send someone to the airport to pick him up?”
Tong Sui listened to their discussion but didn’t pay much attention because, in the original plot, the new guest didn’t have much presence and left soon after arriving.
However, this sparked enthusiastic responses on the bullet screen.
— Given the quality of the third season, the flying guest should be a handsome guy, right?
— The second floor is already fully booked. Where will the new guest sleep? Do they have to share a bed?
