“After streaming for a whole day, I really have to call it a night. See you all tomorrow!” Tong Sui announced.
The comments flooded in:
— “Make sure you rest well, see you tomorrow!”
— “My darling has played scary games for an entire day, I hope you won’t have nightmares. Send me your address, I’ll fly right over to sleep with you.”
— “I can too; I’m honest when I sleep!”
“I won’t have nightmares; I’m not that timid,” Tong Sui said. “So that’s it, bye-bye.”
As soon as Tong Sui finished speaking, the screen went black.
After he finished streaming, Chi Xingyu didn’t linger for even a second and followed suit, ending his stream as well.
That night, an edited video quietly climbed to trending status.
Since the video featured Chi Xingyu’s name, many curious viewers clicked in, causing it to rise from a few dozen views to one of the top spots.
“Kid, let’s get married on the spot: Who understands? Today’s stream was absolutely amazing! I stayed up all night editing the video; I want to keep every segment.”
“@EVStars, your wife belongs to me now.”
The video showed Tong Sui blushing as he was forced by everyone to share fan benefits, changing clothes and reopening the camera just as he asked Chi Xingyu, “Pool God, do I look good?”
Chi Xingyu’s response, “It’s okay,” was followed by a montage of moments where he kept his eyes glued to Kid, seemingly for added emphasis.
The narration asked, “Is that what you call ‘okay’?”
The following scenes enlarged Kid’s footage.
Whether he was venting about being dumped in the kitchen or had a flushed nose after wearing a paper wedding dress, every frame released cuteness like waves onto the viewers.
A massive wave of comments inundated the video:
— “Ahhhh, so cute, help!”
— “@EVStars, your wife belongs to me now.”
— “A guy in a skirt??? Where’s the moral line, where’s the dignity? Where’s the address? Contact info?”
— “Hahaha, I almost lost control reading that.”
— “What? I remember the blogger was originally a fan of Chi Xingyu, how did they switch sides?”
— “Who can resist that? The teary-eyed scared look is just too adorable! Anyone got the full stream replay?!”
…
After finishing his stream, Chi Xingyu received the video shared by his teammates in the group chat, with several of them tagging him one after another.
Chi Xingyu: ?
“Trending again.”
“Do you really have something going on?”
“I don’t think the team ever said you can’t date. A dating show reached out a few days ago; if you really like someone, just go for it.”
As Chi Xingyu listened to them throw ideas around, it felt as if they were poking at certain feelings he was reluctant to acknowledge.
Chi Xingyu: How could that be? We’re just playing games.
“Stop pretending; I’ve seen the video. The way you look at someone else has nearly crossed into obsession.”
“If any of us pulled that kind of performance, you would have torn us to shreds. You’re actually spending the whole day with him.”
“If you like him, just go for it; we don’t discriminate based on orientation.”
Chi Xingyu frowned.
Did he really show it that obviously?
And what about Kid? Did he feel anything?
Chi Xingyu couldn’t be sure, but he realized if they continued like this, he would lose control over his feelings for Kid.
It was so strange.
He had encountered good-looking people before, but no one had ever given him this unique feeling.
Chi Xingyu clicked on the video.
Even after spending an entire day streaming together, seeing Kid’s face again made his heart rate subtly twitch.
He lay in bed, replaying the video several times, and continuously dreamed about Kid.
This time, Kid was different from before, wearing a cute pink and white dress, hiding behind him in the horror game when scared.
Kid appeared youthful; dressed in the skirt with long hair, there was no sense of incongruity. Approaching him, he could see tiny droplets of water on his eyelashes.
“Let me show you something…” Kid said, holding his hand.
Chi Xingyu knew what was coming; he had watched those legs in the video repeatedly, enough to visualize them with his eyes closed.
Yet, despite that, his heart raced uncontrollably, as if some string inside him had snapped.
When he woke up the next day, Chi Xingyu threw off the blanket and looked down, “…”.
With a scowl, he walked into the bathroom.
After a while, he emerged having changed his pants.
At breakfast, Chi Xingyu remained silent, and no one knew what was bothering him.
“You’ve streamed enough this month,” the coach sighed. “And it’s not even the end of the month yet; I’m surprised I don’t have to urge you.”
Chi Xingyu stayed quiet.
The coach furrowed his brow and tapped the table. “What are you daydreaming about so early in the morning?”
Finally looking up, Chi Xingyu’s expression remained cold, but his gaze was more sluggish than usual. “What did you just say?”
The coach: “…”
Sure enough, no matter how cool a guy is, he can’t escape being lovesick for someone he likes.
He casually remarked, “There was a dating show that wanted you as a guest, but looking at you now, I don’t think you need to go on shows like that. You and that Kid…”
Hearing Kid’s name made Chi Xingyu’s eyes light up. “I don’t have anything with him; I don’t like him. I’m straight.”
Just by mentioning a name, he received a triple denial from Chi Xingyu.
Isn’t that a guilty conscience?
The coach decided not to expose it outright. “There’s a friendly competition coming up in a few days; do you want to participate?”
The coach didn’t expect Chi Xingyu to agree anyway; in the past, whenever there were friendly matches, other teams would beg them to send in their main roster, especially requesting Chi Xingyu to participate.
