The barrage of comments flooded with sarcasm:
— “You call this not bad? Someone drag Chi Gou out!”
— “Your voice is hoarse, and you still hold on.”
— “Even when the sky is falling, Chi Xingyu has his mouth to back him up.”
“By the way, let me show you something,” Tong Sui pushed the chair aside, her delicate hands reaching under her skirt, “Look—”
“What are you doing?!”
Chi Xingyu shouted, startling the small broadcaster. When he realized and looked closely, underneath the layers of her skirt was surprisingly a pair of sweatpants.
“Why are you shouting so loudly?” Tong Sui huffed, “I’m not without clothes underneath.”
He had truly been startled by Kid’s actions, thinking that the little broadcaster was about to do something attention-seeking in front of so many people.
Chi Xingyu glanced at the small broadcaster on the screen and turned his face away, while the legs under the skirt were completely different from the rough ones of other boys. They were straight, fair, and even lacked any hair, with the shape of the knees looking particularly delicate.
How could anyone’s legs look this beautiful, like freshly peeled lotus roots, with joints so fair and pink?
Chi Xingyu suddenly snapped out of it, feeling genuinely crazy; why was he associating so many thoughts with looking at a boy’s legs?
— “This outfit is so white, no wait, I mean that bow is so neat.”
— “Wuwu, the sister’s legs aren’t legs; they are the spring waters of the Seine.”
— “Guys, I really have nothing left!”
Seeing their crude comments, Chi Xingyu thought about how this image he was witnessing was being broadcast to a group of unfamiliar viewers. His expression changed, and he said coldly, “Calm down everyone; I’ll mute anyone who speaks recklessly.”
— “Wow, this jealousy is so strong, it’s like you don’t need to add vinegar to dumplings anymore.”
— “Kid is right, you’re just a pure bad egg and a bully.”
— “Don’t let his upright words fool you; he’s probably thought of who knows what and doesn’t allow anyone to voice his inner thoughts.”
Chi Xingyu sneered, “Don’t think of me as someone like you.”
— “Who sneaked into the live room as soon as Kid went live? Who got starry-eyed looking at Kid’s face? Who is it?”
— “This face is thicker than a wall.”
Chi Xingyu couldn’t be bothered with their taunts and said to Tong Sui, “Do you really want to be sent to the entertainment district?”
Tong Sui replied, “I don’t want to.”
Chi Xingyu said, “Then sit down.”
“Oh…”
Tong Sui sat down, getting closer to the camera. His features were rather soft, and the little curly hair looked completely natural, triggering another wave of comments.
Chi Xingyu put in effort to focus, his expression appearing no different than usual, and said, “Log in, I’ll take you along today.”
Tong Sui countered, “But I don’t want to play PUBG today.”
Chi Xingyu asked, “What did you say?”
Tong Sui’s eyelashes fluttered. He felt that Chi Xingyu said those words while biting his back molars. He quickly explained, “I’m just not good at PUBG; I want to play something simpler.”
Chi Xingyu chuckled, “You’re quite accurate with your self-assessment.”
However, does being bad at gaming mean that playing simpler games makes it easier? How naïve! As long as a game requires any skill, those who are bad at games are bound to fail.
Tong Sui looked at the comments and said, “They are all talking about ‘Overcooked,’ why do we have to play this game? The name sounds strange.”
In Overcooked, players take on the role of chefs, preparing ingredients, cooking, and serving dishes amid obstacles and dangers, all within a specified time frame.
The gameplay was simple but required good cooperation between players.
Tong Sui searched for it, watched the video introduction, and confidently said, “This looks pretty easy; let’s play this.”
Chi Xingyu didn’t mind; he picked up games quickly and outplayed most people.
Until he met Kid…
“Don’t block me, don’t block me, oh no, I can’t plate!”
“Help, I fell down, ah!”
“How can ingredients fall into the river?!”
“Ahhh, it’s on fire! Fire extinguisher, where’s the fire extinguisher?!”
Chi Xingyu’s headphones were filled with Kid’s frantic voice. He finally couldn’t help but hit the pause button, “This isn’t a voice-controlled game.”
Tong Sui said, “If you don’t cooperate with me, of course, we’ll lose. Am I supposed to blame myself? I’ve already worked hard!”
His tone was so righteous that for a moment it even made Chi Xingyu doubt himself. But then he thought about how they had repeatedly failed on such simple levels; it was simply an embarrassing defeat in his many years of gaming.
Chi Xingyu said, “Just stand still; I can pass by myself.”
Tong Sui huffed twice, “How is that possible? If we both can’t get through, how can you manage alone?”
He found Chi Xingyu too arrogant.
If it were PUBG, he might believe Chi Xingyu was that skilled, but they were playing the same game at the same time, there couldn’t be that much of a difference.
As Tong Sui thought this, he saw the character on the screen moving swiftly and accurately, preparing ingredients, cooking, and serving.
When they were playing it together, it looked chaotic, but when Chi Xingyu was alone, he seemed organized.
What’s going on?
When the progress bar finished, a system prompt popped up.
Three stars, perfect clearance.
Why is this happening?!!
Tong Sui stared at the clearance prompt in disbelief, seemingly hit by a considerable shock.
Why is it that the moment the game changes, Chi Xingyu is still so much better than him? It was clearly his first time playing too; this isn’t fair!
Chi Xingyu said, “This tells us that talent is more important than hard work.”
Tong Sui sniffled, staring at the clearance prompt for several seconds. He indeed couldn’t beat Chi Xingyu and simply gave up, “Then I won’t play anymore.”
