Tong Sui posted a new Weibo message: “Everyone, don’t wait for me. I’m very tired today, so I’m going to sleep first [zzzz].”
After sending out the message, Tong Sui fell asleep as soon as he put down his phone.
Almost immediately, his Weibo received hundreds of new comments, the most prominent being from Chi Xingyu.
EVStars: Goodnight [zzzz] [heart]
His comment instantly sparked everyone’s ridicule:
—??? How dare you show up here?
—@EVStars, bad guy, bully.
—Is Chi Shen bored lately? Stop eyeing my wife; he doesn’t even want to deal with you anymore.
—Resist online violence, resist workplace rules, resist bullying small streamers [dog head]
Chi Xingyu examined these comments without blinking. If he really wanted to be a villain, he could have done so already this afternoon.
That evening, Chi Xingyu had a strange dream.
He dreamed of following the image address given by Kid, advancing towards him.
The offline Kid was startled, his eyes red as he called out, “Ge…” His voice trembled, almost breaking into tears.
Chi Xingyu couldn’t articulate his feelings; he just wanted to get closer, to smell the scent on him, or to see the teardrops at the corners of his eyes more clearly.
If possible, he even wanted to hear Kid curse him directly, whether calling him a bad guy or a bully; he was eager to hear it if it was from Kid.
When Tong Sui woke up, it was already the next day.
He remembered he needed to go to the hospital to pick up his medical report, so he got up early.
Having been there just yesterday, he was familiar with the hospital layout this time.
He went to the examination department and collected his paper report, glancing through it as he walked. Aside from being slightly underweight, everything else was normal.
As he focused on the report, he didn’t notice someone walking towards him and bumped into them directly.
“Bang.”
Tong Sui staggered back two steps.
Just as he was about to fall, a flash of white passed by, and a strong hand pulled him back.
“Are you okay?”
The voice was as gentle as the wind, contrasting sharply with the strength of the hand that held him.
After regaining his balance, Tong Sui clearly saw the man in front of him.
He wore silver-framed glasses, a light blue shirt with a matching tie, and a neatly pressed white lab coat.
His tall stature made the ordinary lab coat stand out.
Tong Sui caught sight of the ID badge pinned to his chest and exclaimed in surprise, “…Zhou Siyuan?”
“Mm?”
Zhou Siyuan noticed Tong Sui staring at his ID badge and chuckled, “Have we met somewhere before, little friend?”
Tong Sui quickly averted his gaze, “No, I wasn’t watching where I was going and accidentally bumped into you. I’m sorry.”
Zhou Siyuan nodded and reached out his hand toward Tong Sui’s face.
Tong Sui instinctively closed his eyes.
Zhou Siyuan lightly tapped his forehead, his cool fingers like a drifting snowflake. “It’s a bit red. Does it hurt?”
Tong Sui opened his eyes, perplexed.
If Zhou Siyuan hadn’t pointed it out, he wouldn’t have even noticed.
Zhou Siyuan chuckled, “Come with me to the office to take a look.”
Tong Sui originally wanted to refuse but decided to follow him since this was one of the four villains.
In fact, among all of them, Zhou Siyuan was the least likely to be a villain.
His gentle temperament and profession as a doctor made him the one with the highest moral standards among the four.
Upon entering Zhou Siyuan’s office, Tong Sui’s first impression was that his desk was cluttered with many items.
Though arranged neatly, the sheer volume made it feel a bit crowded.
The slant of light from the blinds fell into the office as Zhou Siyuan pulled out a chair for him.
“Sit down.”
Once seated, Tong Sui noticed the overall cold decor and felt an inexplicable sense of nervousness, as if he were visiting a doctor.
His gaze fell on a pot of lush succulent plants beneath the computer screen; they looked plump due to proper care.
Zhou Siyuan opened a drawer and handed him a mirror.
Tong Sui took it and looked.
His forehead indeed had a red mark; due to his fair skin, the bruised spot was particularly noticeable.
“Although it looks only red now, it could bruise, so I had someone get an ice pack,” Zhou Siyuan said, handing him a cup of hot water. “Please wait a moment.”
Not long after, a nurse carrying a thermal box entered, “Dr. Zhou, the ice pack you requested.”
“Thank you.”
Zhou Siyuan accepted it, then pulled back a curtain to reveal a single bed, “Come over.”
Tong Sui followed him.
He lay down on the bed while Zhou Siyuan placed the ice pack on him. “You can take this with you later; after it melts, put it back in the refrigerator for reuse.”
“Okay, thank you, Dr. Zhou.”
Zhou Siyuan nodded lightly and suddenly asked, “Do you prefer strawberry or mango flavor?”
“Ah?” Tong Sui replied, bewildered, “Strawberry, I guess.”
“Here.”
A pink fruit candy landed in his palm as Zhou Siyuan said, “Have a piece of candy, and it will be better in no time.”
Tong Sui instinctively nodded, but the ice pack fell from his forehead. Zhou Siyuan steadied it, “Alright, don’t move around too much; I will go see other patients.”
Tong Sui obediently responded with an “mm.”
Zhou Siyuan pulled the curtain back, blocking any prying eyes.
Tong Sui lay on the bed gazing at the ceiling.
He unwrapped the strawberry candy and placed it in his mouth, the faint sweet flavor and fruity aroma filling his mouth. The candy was quite delicious.
