He decisively parked his car and said to Tong Sui, “Wait for me a moment.” Then he stealthily made his way towards the training base.
There were more than one person shooting at them.
Chi Xingyu did not rush in alone; instead, he circled to the side and threw a Molotov cocktail into the building from a second-floor window.
Then the public channel crackled with several voices, “Damn! Someone’s here!”
Chi Xingyu smirked as he leaned forward, adjusted his angle, and bounced a grenade into the room along the window ledge. After taking two steps back, he threw a flashbang inside.
This series of actions was fluid and decisive.
The people on the public channel were spewing manic insults, cursing Chi Xingyu’s family with loud and unpleasant voices.
Chi Xingyu rushed up to the second floor and ruthlessly eliminated the four opponents inside.
The barrage of comments flooded the screen:
—— 6666 too strong!!!
—— One versus four, I’m amazed.
—— Chi Xingyu: I prefer searching for enemies’ boxes over looting houses.
—— It’s only right, if you can’t win, just insult others; that’s so low-class.
Chi Xingyu calmly looted, saying, “It’s just that they were too stupid.”
Upon spotting an intact level three helmet, he paused and, unusually, initiated conversation, “Number 1, come here.”
Tong Sui, who was obediently waiting in place, then rode his motorcycle over. When he arrived at the second floor and saw all the boxes, he exclaimed, “Wow! That’s amazing! How did you do that?”
Chi Xingyu slightly raised the corner of his mouth and covered his lips with his fist, pretending to be reserved as he coughed lightly, “Go pick up the level three helmet.”
“Oh oh!”
Tong Sui happily replaced his level two helmet and glanced at the mini-map, “Are we supposed to run away from the gas?”
Chi Xingyu replied with a “mm” sound.
Just as he was about to take the motorcycle, he heard Tong Sui say, “Can I give it a try?”
Excited by how well he drove earlier, and imagining how cool Chi Xingyu looked while driving, he felt a bit restless.
After hearing Number 4 say it was fine, Tong Sui eagerly hopped on and carefully told him, “Make sure to hold on tight.”
Chi Xingyu: “……”
Such childish behavior, is he treating him like a child?
As he sat on the back of the motorcycle, he watched as Tong Sui, who started off confidently, weaved chaotically to avoid obstacles while muttering things like “Steady, steady, you can do this…” barely managing to accelerate out of the danger zone.
Chi Xingyu frowned, sensing the changing terrain ahead, a bad feeling creeping over him.
Sure enough, the next second, they crashed out.
Chi Xingyu, who had never lost in a gunfight or even at the world championship, fell silent.
He glanced at the small text.
[You have been eliminated due to falling]
As he stared at Chi Xingyu’s dark face, the comments exploded:
—— Hahahaha!
—— I’m dying laughing, Chi Xingyu has never been so speechless in his life.
—— Chi: Who am I, where am I?
—— I don’t know why, but seeing Chi Xingyu with a sour face after failing makes me so happy.
Tong Sui, shocked at how badly they crashed, quietly said several apologies before he realized the bottom left corner’s icon never lit up.
When they returned to the waiting screen, Tong Sui’s heart raced.
He indeed just screwed over his teammate.
Feeling embarrassed, Tong Sui contemplated quitting the stream, but then he heard the system prompt: [You can’t leave yet, take a look at the number of viewers in the stream.]
He sniffled and looked at the count in the top right corner, bewildered to see it jump from one thousand to ten thousand.
It’s important to note that the original owner had streamed for half a month, even flaunted various outfits, and the highest concurrent viewership had only reached three thousand.
Tong Sui was dumbfounded.
He read the comments zipping by:
—— Hahaha, baby don’t be scared, the opponents can’t come through the internet to attack you.
—— I came over from Chi Xingyu’s stream, help, he really is an anchor, and looks so good, Chi, you’re so lucky!
—— Wall-crossing +1! I declare I’m staying here from today onward.
—— The wife is the first to make Chi Xingyu pull a sour face; the whole company can hear me laughing like a rooster.
……
Tong Sui processed these comments; he could understand the individual words, but as a whole, it was overwhelming.
He accurately spotted several familiar terms.
Chi Xingyu.
The system chimed in: [Yes, he is one of the antagonists, a member of the EV team, the championship team of this world competition, Chi Xingyu, who just turned 18 a few days ago.]
Tong Sui was completely stunned.
How could he have randomly matched into a game with him?
He pondered Chi Xingyu’s personality: cold, sharp-tongued, extraordinarily talented; the youngest in the main lineup of the team, yet often made older teammates cry during training.
Tong Sui recalled his own abysmal performance and for the first time felt inclined to escape from this world.
At that moment, a game invitation popped up.
Tong Sui froze at the sight of the ID.
Shaking his fingers, he slowly hovered over the reject option while discussing with the chatroom, “How about we just queue solo?”
Yet, the comments were filled with people eager for chaos:
—— Accept, accept, accept!!
—— Baby, hurry and accept; don’t make me beg!
—— Hahahaha, who remembers what Chi Xingyu said earlier? [Next game solo.]
—— User ‘kid you are my treasure’ sent a carnival x1 and left a message: Treasure, hurry and accept!
The system whispered devilishly in his ear: One carnival costs three thousand.
Tong Sui did not want to accept, but the pressure was too much.
He could only grit his teeth and click to agree.
As the interface transitioned, Tong Sui saw the character dressed in a black coat and red scarf.
