He took a deep breath, faintly detecting the scent lingering on Tong Sui, subtly mixed with the aroma of disinfectant from the laboratory.
Tong Sui asked softly, “Can you kiss me like you did yesterday…?”
His voice was barely audible, and he couldn’t bring himself to look Jiang Hua in the eye for fear of a rejection. His palms, tightly clenched, had begun to sweat lightly.
Yet, before he could linger on his anxiety for too long, he felt a pressure at his waist.
Tong Sui was forcefully pushed down to sit, but not on a chair—he was sitting on Jiang Hua’s lap.
Tong Sui’s eyelashes quivered noticeably.
A kiss, even more fervent than yesterday’s, fell upon his lips, and this time, there were no extraordinary powers at play.
Jiang Hua was kissing him.
As that thought entered Tong Sui’s mind, his ears burned even hotter.
When did Jiang Hua start to like him?
A slightly rough fingertip grazed his rosy, delicate ear, gently squeezing it, the skin feeling as if it might burst from the heat.
Jiang Hua murmured softly, “Little Sui.”
Tong Sui’s heart trembled.
This was the first time he had heard Jiang Hua call his name with such a gentle tone.
Jiang Hua reached up and pushed his glasses back a bit, revealing his beautiful eyes, as if dismantling the barrier that had existed between them.
Tong Sui felt a blush creeping to his corners of his eyes, misty with emotion as he gazed at him.
It was happening for a second time.
He wouldn’t let anyone slip away from him so easily now.
Jiang Hua gently pressed his lips against Tong Sui’s.
The soft, cool lips caught the little moisture at the corner of his eyes.
“Little Sui.”
Tong Sui felt even worse, on the brink of tears.
Jiang Hua grew even more tender, calling his name while planting a flurry of kisses on his face, as if he wanted to trace every feature with his lips.
The sensation was like a dull knife cutting into flesh.
It lifted his heart so high, almost causing him to feel dizzy and on the edge of falling.
Yet he had nowhere to escape, trapped between Jiang Hua’s embrace and the desk behind him, only a small range for movement.
There was still a force pressing against his waist.
His kiss seemed gentle, but it firmly held Tong Sui captive; even if he wanted to pull away, he couldn’t escape.
This feeling was too strange.
Tong Sui couldn’t bear such abnormal tenderness any longer, “Jiang Hua, did you not eat? Are you lacking energy? What happened to the vigor you had yesterday?”
Jiang Hua chuckled in response, pressing his finger firmly on Tong Sui’s earlobe.
“Complaining that I lack strength? Who ran away like a rabbit after yesterday’s kiss?”
Tong Sui’s earlobes flushed. “So do you think I’m too difficult to please?”
“Not at all,” Jiang Hua replied, “You’re too cute. I wanted to bring you out to continue kissing yesterday.”
Tong Sui’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He never anticipated Jiang Hua thought of it that way.
“I’m not cute,” he stammered, curling his fingers, “And, and I won’t run away today…”
“Okay, that’s what you said.”
As Jiang Hua’s words fell, Tong Sui’s heart skipped a beat in a panic.
A dangerous aura enveloped him.
It felt as if a beast, lurking in darkness and cloaked in a facade of kindness, had finally torn away the disguise, revealing a greedy, dark interior.
It seemed that all the tenderness just now was merely calm before the storm, the surface tranquility before the tempest came crashing down.
When the raging wind and rain fell, ripples spread across the sea, splashing tumultuously against the rocks along the coastline.
Tong Sui realized too late that he had been deceived by that calm.
His lover was never a gentle gentleman; he learned this in two different worlds.
How could he think Jiang Hua was harmless?
Although it was Tong Sui himself who said he wouldn’t run away, this clearly inflated Jiang Hua’s arrogance, and his kisses were growing excessive.
Why had he worried about Jiang Hua rejecting him?
The more Tong Sui thought about it, the more he felt his concerns were superfluous; Jiang Hua was undeniably enjoying it, practically wanting to swallow him whole.
Time slipped away as Jiang Hua continued kissing him without any sign of stopping.
Tong Sui’s head grew fuzzy.
He pushed Jiang Hua away weakly, but the other remained unmoved; instead, he grasped Tong Sui’s hand, affectionately rubbing his palm with his fingers.
Tong Sui felt exasperated.
He felt as if he might suffocate and faint if the kisses continued, and the other hand that had been resting around Jiang Hua’s neck moved upwards.
His snow-white fingers disappeared into Jiang Hua’s gray-brown short hair.
He tugged Jiang Hua’s hair backward.
The tug sent a prickling sensation across his scalp, igniting a rush of excitement, with an unknown light dancing in Jiang Hua’s eyes.
It reminded him of countless times in the training ground, the air filled with the scent of fresh blood, his own wounds flaring with pain.
He yearned even more to put an end to those easily defeated opponents.
A warm tear rolled down his cheek.
Jiang Hua snapped back to reality.
The face he had fantasized about countless times was right in front of him, streaming tears down, with the thin skin at the corners of his eyes and his nose turning a vivid red.
Jiang Hua leaned back a few inches.
It felt as if a large hand had gripped his heart, diligently wiping away his tears while whispering gently, “Don’t cry, Little Sui, I’m sorry.”
Yet Tong Sui couldn’t process his words at all.
He gasped for air, mouth open wide.
His lips, transformed from a pale pink after a lengthy kiss, now glowed red.
At that moment, a knocking sound came from outside the door.
Tong Sui jumped in fright, quickly standing up from Jiang Hua, barely managing to avoid falling due to his weak legs.
He hastily returned to his place, head lowered, using his hands to shield his face.
Jiang Hua seemed to want to say something.
But the waiter had already entered with the dishes, presenting the meals he had ordered with a smile, wishing him to enjoy his meal.
