“After all, you wanted to buy this for me; I can’t let your kind intentions go to waste,” Ye Lin Yuan said, holding up the sweater to compare sizes against his body. “Do you want to see me wear it?”
Ye Lin Yuan’s demeanor was undoubtedly outstanding, yet it was also icy and remote, like a high peak covered in snow, cold and untouched by the mundane. The sweater he held, however, seemed out of place. This contrasting feeling stirred an intense curiosity instead of aversion, making one want to see that pure white blend with other colors.
Tong Sui felt a surge of excitement, “Can I?”
Ye Lin Yuan nodded softly and walked into the bathroom to change clothes. Tong Sui wrapped himself tightly in a blanket, waiting nervously.
After a moment, the bathroom door opened, and he felt a surge of tension from the approaching footsteps.
Ye Lin Yuan stepped closer, “It’s still a bit small.”
Originally tailored to fit, the sweater clung even tighter to Ye Lin Yuan’s frame. His muscular physique was accentuated beautifully from years of training, showcasing a stunning contour. The hollow designs on both the front and back of the sweater displayed a perfect view of his physique, especially the expanse of bare skin on his back that resembled rolling mountains.
Tong Sui glanced over, feeling as flushed as a pot of boiling water, steam almost rising from his head.
Ye Lin Yuan’s knees pressed against the bed, “Why is your face so red?”
Tong Sui lowered his eyes, the moisture clinging to his lashes and couldn’t bring himself to meet the gaze of Ye Lin Yuan, who was so close, feeling shy as he pulled the blanket tighter around him.
Ye Lin Yuan chuckled, taking his hand and moving it to his back.
This experience was novel for Tong Sui. Ye Lin Yuan’s waist was solid, a little elastic under his touch. Tong Sui understood very well the strength that Ye Lin Yuan possessed. He even had beautiful dips at his waist. The combination of such strength and grace formed the most beautiful scenery.
Ye Lin Yuan tilted his head down, skillfully holding the back of Tong Sui’s neck as he kissed him.
By the afternoon, Tong Sui finally had his first meal of the day.
Inside the light brain, the chat room from the mecha base still buzzed with activity as everyone shared their vacation experiences.
Xiao Pang tagged Tong Sui in a message.
Xiao Pang: “So, how’s the stuff you bought? Is your partner happy?”
Having hardly gotten out of bed for two days, Tong Sui replied: “……”
Duan Jia Mu: “What did you buy?”
Xiao Pang: “Hehe, he has an online store. I’ll send you the link.”
Duan Jia Mu clicked on the link Xiao Pang sent and was shocked by the extravagant interface; he quickly closed it. He dismissed the servants nearby and reopened the store, picturing that serious Director Ye wearing these items, his expression looking quite complicated. If Xiao Pang knew the truth, he would probably explode in disbelief.
After browsing for a bit, Duan Jia Mu selected a few items and opened a chat with Jiang Che.
[Which one do you like?]
After two days of indulgence, Tong Sui found himself behind on his assignments and had no choice but to stay up late to finish them. Fortunately, Ye Lin Yuan’s study desk was large enough for Tong Sui to spread out a chaotic array of textbooks on one side while the other side remained organized with Ye Lin Yuan’s well-arranged documents.
The assignments weren’t difficult, just numerous. Tong Sui buried his head in writing. Although he often daydreamed in class, he had always completed and submitted his assignments diligently.
Ye Lin Yuan sat beside him dealing with official matters.
An hour later, the light brain buzzed, and Ye Lin Yuan answered a video call.
The person on the other side opened his mouth to speak but paused in surprise upon seeing the Alpha sitting beside Ye Lin Yuan. Dressed in loose-fitting pajamas with his head lowered, his neck bore ambiguous kiss marks, and he was doing first-year mecha system assignments.
The information was overwhelming.
It took the person several seconds to say, “Director Ye, I need to report some news.”
Ye Lin Yuan replied, “Just say it. There are no outsiders here.”
“It’s about the Lu family. We have managed to attract their current partners away with a lower price. With the current cash flow, they cannot cover the project losses, and the Lu family is already selling off assets.”
“Right, keep an eye on them,” Ye Lin Yuan said coldly. “Don’t give them any chance to turn things around.”
“Understood.”
Lu Yiming didn’t expect that before he could see Ye Lin Yuan investigated, he would instead receive the news regarding his family’s bankruptcy. Their house was mortgaged, all valuable furniture cleared out, and soon they would be forcibly evicted from their home. Lu Yiming had never gone through such an experience.
His father entered the house looking defeated, and his mother hurried to greet him, “Did anyone offer to help us?”
His father shook his head.
“Those dogs said they had nothing to do with us as soon as they heard I was here to borrow money. Even the few original partners have terminated contracts and run away, claiming I’ve offended someone.”
His mother’s face turned pale, “What do we do? Who did we offend…”
“The Tong family wouldn’t go so far as to push us to the edge. There must be someone else.” His father recalled how their streak of bad luck had begun when they returned from the hospital, his expression darkening. “Could it be Ye Lin Yuan?”
“Impossible?!” Lu Yiming exclaimed. “He’s just a dean at an academy; he has no say in business matters—”
“Fool.” His father rebuked. “Do you think anyone can sit in that position without power? The influence behind him isn’t something you can see on the surface!”
After being scolded, Lu Yiming dazedly went to school.
During lunch break, he walked into the cafeteria, constantly trying to reassure himself.
No matter how powerful Ye Lin Yuan was, could he really compete with the royal family?
He had already revealed all the truths to the prince. If he just waited a little longer, the prince would…
Lu Yiming’s footsteps halted.
He spotted a very familiar face, and he thought he must be losing his sanity.
