If it weren’t for Tong Sui, he wouldn’t have been injured so lightly. He couldn’t repay this kindness in any way.
Beside him, Jiang Che said, “Hmm, I’ll stay here with you.”
The night was dark.
On the sickbed, Tong Sui trembled his long eyelashes, opened his eyes, and saw the pure white ceiling, momentarily stunned.
Before he could collect his thoughts, he heard the sound of someone crying, “Brother Sui! You finally woke up!! Wuu wuu wuu!!”
Tong Sui’s heart tightened as he saw so many people surrounding him, thinking he was on the brink of death.
The doctor carefully examined him.
“You have a mild concussion, but nothing else is wrong. You can be discharged after observing you for one night.”
Duan Jiamu stood up and said, “Tong Sui, thank you for saving me. I can’t repay you, so you can ask for anything as long as I can fulfill it.”
Tong Sui looked at him, then glanced at Jiang Che next to him. “Then you two should be good together and quickly go back to rest. That’s my request.”
Both of them flushed.
Tong Sui was indeed not severely injured. After chatting with them for a few moments, he sent them on their way.
The hospital room was left with only Tong Sui. He habitually turned on his light brain to see what messages Yelin Yuan had sent him.
The message had stopped on the one he sent out.
Hmm?
Tong Sui was slightly taken aback; four or five hours had passed since that message, and Yelin Yuan had never taken this long to reply to him.
Could something have happened?
Tong Sui sat up, propped a pillow at his waist, and contacted him.
There was silence on the other end for a long while.
Finally, just as the waiting time was about to be over, it connected.
“Mm? Why is it a voice call?” Tong Sui hadn’t seen Yelin Yuan for a day, “I want to see you.”
There was silence for a moment.
Yelin Yuan’s voice was hoarse, “I have things to deal with.”
Tong Sui furrowed his brows slightly, feeling that Yelin Yuan’s voice was strange, but before he could ask, Yelin Yuan hung up.
Staring at the disconnected call, Tong Sui was frozen for two seconds.
“System, help me check on Yelin Yuan.”
System: [Okay.]
A familiar mirror floated in mid-air, and the image gradually became clear.
Was that a hospital room?
Yelin Yuan was sitting on the cold floor, his usually straight back weakly arched against the bed frame, his wrinkled clothes showing several bloodstains on his arms.
His eyes were vacant, lost in thought, and he sat still like a cold, indifferent statue.
Tong Sui’s pupils constricted, “Why is it like this?”
System: [His differentiation has accelerated.]
According to the original plot, Yelin Yuan was supposed to differentiate into an Omega two years later, but perhaps because of Tong Sui’s arrival, differentiation had been triggered to accelerate.
Tong Sui asked, “Can you trace his location?”
System: [What do you want to do? Don’t forget you still need to stay for observation—hey!]
Before it could finish, Tong Sui had already pulled out the IV needle, with the half-empty drip still dangling in mid-air.
Tong Sui rushed down the stairs and got into a taxi.
“If you want to complete the mission, tell me the location.”
System: [……]
Half a second later, it obediently reported the address.
The twenty-minute ride felt incredibly long to Tong Sui.
When he got out of the car, a gust of night wind hit.
Tong Sui felt cold all over, as if his blood had frozen.
He followed the system’s positioning to arrive at the hospital room, but in the corridor, Liang Chi stopped him, “You can’t enter here casually.”
“I’m looking for Yelin Yuan.”
Liang Chi was momentarily stunned; the young and handsome Alpha before him was unfamiliar to him. “Are you his?”
Tong Sui answered, “I’m his boyfriend.”
Liang Chi did not react right away.
Tong Sui pushed past him and opened the door. Through the glass, he saw the various wounds on Yelin Yuan’s body.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Yelin Yuan numbly raised his eyes. When he saw Tong Sui, his body visibly stiffened.
Liang Chi quickly blocked him, “You can’t go in; it’s very dangerous in there. He’s in the heat phase, and losing control of his pheromones could hurt you.”
Tong Sui leaned against the glass, his eyes turning red with urgency, “Yelin Yuan, is this what you meant when you said you had something going on?”
“I…”
Yelin Yuan didn’t know how to face Tong Sui. He wanted to wipe away the tears of others but realized he was incapable of it.
“You should leave.”
“I’m not leaving,” Tong Sui looked at Liang Chi, “Isn’t the matching rate all that matters?”
Liang Chi was stunned for a moment and nodded.
Tong Sui extended his hand, “You can test.”
Reluctantly, Liang Chi complied, taking out a blood sampling needle, but he didn’t hold out much hope.
Given the multitude of Alpha samples in the matching center, none had matched, and even the highest at 39% had been rejected and attacked by pheromones.
How high could this Alpha’s match be?
Liang Chi dropped the blood sample into the rapid testing device, and after a few seconds, the result popped out.
[The matching rate between Sample 1 and 2 is 100%]
“What?”
Liang Chi thought he was seeing things, pressed for a retest, and the result still read 100%.
How could this be possible?
In the history of the Empire, there had never been such a definitive and incredible matching data coming from so many AO pairs.
While he was retesting, Tong Sui had already opened the heavy door and walked inside without hesitation.
The air was thick with sharp, rich pheromones, which unusually surrounded Tong Sui as if inviting him, causing the back of his neck to warm slightly.
Tong Sui approached and knelt down, “What happened to your hand?”
Yelin Yuan stared at Tong Sui, his eyes red and bloodshot.
His throat convulsed.
He felt as if he were caught in a beautiful, fantastical dream; just a gentle touch would make it shatter like bubbles.
