“What are you all talking nonsense about?” The instructor was blunt as he pressed down on the heads of the students. “Each one of you is rambling, and what about the exam?”
In front of the vending machine,
Tong Sui squatted and asked, “Which one do you want?”
When he turned around, a small amount of pheromone wafted over, mingling with the sweat.
It was faint, with a hint of sweet orange.
Ye Linyuan’s gaze lingered on the back of Tong Sui’s neck for two seconds before shifting to the vending machine in front of them.
Behind the glass were a dazzling array of beverages, including the one Tong Sui had handed him earlier in the cafeteria.
He had left it on his desk in the office.
His gaze moved down a little, landing on the orange packaging, which depicted a plump, cut-open orange on the front of the box.
“This one,” Ye Linyuan said, pointing to the big orange.
Tong Sui glanced at it and responded, “Then I’ll have this one too.”
With two boxes of chilled drinks in hand, Tong Sui handed one to Ye Linyuan.
He opened it and took a sip.
The taste was average, but it was nice and cool, perfect for quenching thirst.
He turned to look at Ye Linyuan, and the box seemed much smaller in his hands.
Ye Linyuan lowered his eyelids, took a sip, then frowned slightly.
Tong Sui chuckled.
“Is it a bit unpleasant to drink?”
“Mm.”
Ye Linyuan stole a glance at Tong Sui. The sweet and sour flavor lingering on his tongue was completely different from the faint scent he had just smelled.
Tong Sui was looking at Ye Linyuan’s neatly pressed collar and suddenly wanted to ask, “Is there still a bite mark where I bit you?”
“Do you want to see?”
“I won’t look; I just wanted to ask.”
Tong Sui shifted his gaze, downing a large mouthful of the tart orange juice and wrinkling his face.
Ye Linyuan let out a soft laugh.
Tong Sui’s ears felt slightly warm, but it shouldn’t be heatstroke because his heartbeat was strong and his blood felt hot.
Unconsciously, he looked at Ye Linyuan, who met his gaze.
Tong Sui’s heart raced two beats faster; he quickly averted his eyes and pressed his lips together, tossing the unfinished drink into the trash bin.
With a clatter, he declared, “I’m heading back.”
He took two steps forward but then paused again, sunlight pouring down on him, giving his voice an almost heated quality.
Tong Sui stood in place for a few seconds, then turned back and hesitantly asked,
“Ye Linyuan, do you have even a little bit of feelings for me?”
He looked at the shadow they had initially stood under, where the sunlight created a dividing line between them. Ye Linyuan’s dark gaze appeared cool, as if submerged in cold water.
Suddenly, he felt a bit afraid to wait for the answer.
“I haven’t said anything; it’s getting late. I’ll head off now, bye.”
Tong Sui fled from the scene.
He couldn’t tell if it was the sun burning him or something else, but he felt a surge of restlessness.
After regrouping, the class was engaged in rock climbing training.
He couldn’t use his hands vigorously, so the instructor had arranged for him to watch from the side.
After a few moments of watching, Tong Sui’s attention wandered towards the nearby office building next to the playground, counting the floors and stopping at a certain one.
Sunlight refracted off the glass, pale and blinding.
Did he just act too recklessly?
Ye Linyuan probably didn’t pay attention to what he said, right?
Little Fatty, who had come over to stand guard due to his weight issues, asked, “Sui Ge, what are you thinking about?”
Tong Sui redirected his gaze to the rock climbing wall.
He felt stuck between two protruding rocks; he couldn’t move up or down, feeling utterly uncomfortable.
Noticing Tong Sui’s silence, Little Fatty continued, “Sui Ge, I heard the Bride Academy next door is holding a social event. Those Alphas went crazy trying to grab tickets; I heard a 20 yuan ticket is going for over a thousand, and still, people can’t get them.”
Tong Sui frowned, “Why?”
“Oh, Sui Ge, you’re good-looking and come from a wealthy family; how would you know how hard it is to find a partner?”
Little Fatty added, “And encountering high-quality Omegas is difficult; they should seize the opportunity now.
Alpha likes Omega after all.”
“Really?”
What about Ye Linyuan? Surely he also likes Omegas now, right?
So annoying.
Tong Sui furrowed his brows.
Little Fatty said, “Sui Ge, you’re single too, right? If you’re interested, I can find a way to get two tickets.”
“No need to trouble yourself; I have someone I like.”
“What??”
Tong Sui felt his ears ringing from his excitement.
Little Fatty covered his mouth, whispering, “Who is it? Is she also from the Bride Academy? Haven’t you officially confirmed your relationship yet?”
“From our academy,” Tong Sui replied.
Little Fatty’s eyes widened in shock, his pupils oscillating violently.
He questioned if his ears had malfunctioned.
In their academy, there were only Alphas and a few Betas.
“Sui Ge, are you joking with me?”
Little Fatty scrutinized Tong Sui’s face, hoping to find a clue in his expression. But following Tong Sui’s gaze, he only saw an office building.
“…?”
Ye Linyuan stood under the tree for a moment, lifting his hand to touch the location of the bite mark through his clothes.
A slight sting radiated from that spot where the bite mark was.
——“Do you have even a little bit of feelings for me?”
Ye Linyuan lowered his eyes, masking his emotions and turned away, heading in the opposite direction from where Tong Sui left, returning to the office building.
There was a meeting scheduled for the afternoon.
Before the meeting started, the sitting department heads were chatting.
“I just saw in the social news that today’s young Alphas are much more reckless than we were back in the day; they mark but are not responsible, forcing Omegas to remove their marks. They treat love like a toy.”
“They treat these matters as entertainment; there’s curiosity but no respect.”
“It seems like our academy needs to arrange more physiological education lectures, what do you think, Dean Ye?”
