Night Lin Yuan.
Although they were only acquaintances before, they had been classmates for four years, especially since he was now the dean of the military academy. With him keeping an eye out, Tong Si Nian felt much more at ease.
Thus, he didn’t hesitate and made a communication call.
Beep, beep, beep.
Listening to the long-awaited waiting tone, Tong Si Nian rarely had the opportunity to wait for others’ communications; he was the head of the group and no one dared to keep him waiting.
Before the call could automatically hang up, it got connected.
Night Lin Yuan’s black hair was damp with sweat, and the muscle lines on his black tactical vest were even more impressive than in textbooks.
Behind him was the pressure chamber, also known as the hell chamber, used for training alphas to improve their speed under pressure.
Tong Si Nian glanced at the values displayed and couldn’t help but be taken aback. It seemed that in the past three years, he had progressed to a horrifying level that they could not reach.
Night Lin Yuan’s dark eyes were fixed on Tong Si Nian’s red hair; after a few seconds of pause, he quickly remembered who Tong Si Nian was.
“Mr. Tong, what can I do for you?”
“Well,” Tong Si Nian said, “I hope you can keep an eye on my younger brother, Tong Sui. It seems he has developed feelings for a beta at the academy.”
Night Lin Yuan had just come out of the pressure chamber and casually brushed back the damp hair from his forehead.
His appearance had not changed much; he was still cold and handsome, but there was now an added maturity compared to four years ago.
Night Lin Yuan replied, “The military academy does not interfere with students’ romantic relationships. I have no authority to intervene.”
His tone was resolute, leaving no room for negotiation.
Tong Si Nian said, “Alright, sorry to bother you. I’ll think of another way.”
After hanging up, Tong Si Nian couldn’t help but think back to their days as classmates.
Night Lin Yuan seemed to still be at the top of the list of omegas most wanted to marry. However, in the face of a swarm of Confessions, he remained completely unmoved, always calmly and politely declining.
Given his current status, there would likely be even more suitors than before.
Tong Si Nian wondered how someone so cold would behave in a romantic relationship; just thinking about it felt rather fascinating.
Glancing at the time, Tong Si Nian grabbed his tie and headed to the company.
Upon entering the hover car, he instructed his secretary in the passenger seat, “Make a donation to the military academy’s account. I want a spot for Tong Sui.”
The secretary replied, “Understood. Do you have any other instructions?”
Tong Si Nian was not interested in prying into Tong Sui’s privacy, but he feared intentional closeness with ulterior motives.
In fact, with Tong Si Nian’s status, he could easily pull strings to find out more about the beta Tong Sui liked.
However, he paused for a few seconds, recalling the joy on Tong Sui’s face when he mentioned his crush. Tong Si Nian looked out the window.
“Let’s leave it at that for now.”
Back at home, Tong Sui was slowly packing his luggage. He only had one hand, making the task awkward and clumsy.
Fortunately, there was a soft blanket spread on the floor; he sat cross-legged on it, organizing his things while thinking about what kind of clothes Bai Xing Luo liked on him.
It seemed that whatever he wore, Luo would be happy.
If he had to pick a favorite, it would probably be white.
Tong Sui stuffed in a couple more white pieces before realizing it was already afternoon when he finally finished.
Having been up all night, he was now so tired that his mind was somewhat hazy.
Using the last bit of his awareness, he climbed into bed.
As soon as he touched the bed, he fell asleep, soon dreaming a jumble of chaotic scenes.
Like a revolving lantern, those trivial matters he thought he had forgotten surged back, every frame becoming extraordinarily clear.
By the time Tong Si Nian returned from dealing with company affairs, it was already late.
He planned to give Tong Sui his student ID and other items the next day.
The butler informed him that Tong Sui hadn’t come downstairs at all.
Usually, he would assume Tong Sui was too lazy to respond and dismiss it as typical behavior, but Tong Sui’s face surfaced in his mind, and his feet unconsciously changed direction to his brother’s room.
He knocked on Tong Sui’s door.
“Tong Sui, are you asleep?”
Tong Si Nian stood outside for half a minute, but there was silence inside.
After hesitating, he opened the door.
The room was pitch black.
He reached out to turn on the light and found Tong Sui curled up on the bed.
That thin figure was huddled, with the outline of his shoulder blades visible as he curled in on himself. He seemed to be grasping at something, his forehead and cheeks glistening with sweat, and his face was unusually flushed.
Tong Si Nian was startled, and he quickly walked over, sitting on the edge of the bed, reaching out to feel Tong Sui’s forehead.
His palm met an astonishing heat.
He couldn’t wait for the private doctor to arrive slowly; he hurriedly called for the butler to help him support the feverish Tong Sui into the hover car.
The entire villa instantly lit up.
Tong Sui’s parents, who had already gone to bed, got up upon hearing the commotion.
“Si Nian, should we also go to the hospital together? You’ve had a long day too, and it’s not easy for you to manage alone.”
After helping Tong Sui into the hover car, Tong Si Nian followed right in. “No need, you two can rest. I’ll notify you immediately if there is news from the doctor.”
With little traffic at night, the hover car sped along, and soon they arrived at the nearest private elite hospital.
The emergency doctor checked and found Tong Sui had a fever of 39.8℃.
The doctor frowned and said, “At this high a fever, if we had waited even a little longer to send him in, irreversible physical damage would likely occur.”
Tong Si Nian suddenly felt a wave of relief that he had entered that room.
The doctor glanced at Tong Sui’s injured arm and scolded Tong Si Nian, “You’re his family, right? He’s so young, an alpha too; for him to be this sick means he has been overexerting himself. How have you been taking care of him?”
“I…”
