“Are these really the so-called tasks?”
His pure black eyes were mistier than usual, resembling a glass ball soaked in spring water.
Just the thought that Tong Sui might have completed tasks with others in the same way made Bai Xingluo feel as if a heavy stone was pressing down on his chest, making it hard for him to breathe.
He opened his mouth and gently bit his neck, moving to his cheek, “Have you saved anyone in the same manner?”
“Compared to them, what am I? Hmm? Just one of your toys?”
Tong Sui’s skin was delicate, turning slightly red even with the slightest pressure, let alone being bitten directly.
As if to vent his frustration, Tong Sui’s face was marked with bite marks, a little painful yet more of a numb sensation.
“You can’t bear a kiss yet you were able to complete tasks with them?”
With each word, the gloom in his eyes deepened, as if in his fantasies he wanted to kill those people and chew them up.
The dark aura surrounding him grew stronger.
“Without them…”
Tong Sui’s voice had a hoarse quality, faintly pulling at his clothes, “You are the first task I’ve ever undertaken, and… you are also the first I have kissed.”
His voice was soft, muddied with some nasal tone, but it felt like an order that pulled Bai Xingluo from the darkness.
Bai Xingluo’s gaze was heavy.
He stared intently at Tong Sui, noticing the redness at the corner of his eyes teeming with tears, the impression of his careless bites on his face made him look quite aggrieved.
“I will engage in those things with you, not because of the task. What do you take me for…”
As Tong Sui spoke, he felt increasingly wronged, pulling the quilt beside him and wrapping himself tightly within it.
At that moment, the system chose to fan the flames.
【Didn’t I tell you not to speak? Come on, the task is completed, and we can leave this world directly.】
Influenced by the system’s provocation, Tong Sui muffledly said from within the quilt, “Luoluo, if you truly can’t accept what I did wrong, don’t worry, I will leave this world soon, so you don’t have to be angry.”
As soon as he finished speaking, an irresistible force tore the quilt away from him.
Tong Sui looked at him in a panic.
Bai Xingluo eagerly embraced him, pressing his chest against Tong Sui’s back, every muscle in his body taut as if to merge him into his bloodline.
“Don’t go, don’t leave me here.”
He believed the Great Lord could easily leave this world.
In that moment, he truly panicked, unable to imagine how to pass the subsequent years; he could only tightly grasp the tangible entity before him.
“I’m not angry anymore, please don’t go.”
Tong Sui could feel the rapid heartbeat from his back; Bai Xingluo’s heartbeat was fast and powerful, each thud palpable and urgent.
“I’m sorry; I should have been honest with you earlier. I came here to change your life path.”
“Now that the task is completed, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Then, are you going to leave? To a place I can never find you?”
Bai Xingluo’s voice was hoarse, nearly unintelligible, as if every word was being squeezed out from his very heart.
Tong Sui turned around, “That’s how it normally goes, but I don’t want to leave.”
“Why?”
“Because I want to be with you,” Tong Sui leaned in, gently touching his lips, “Luoluo, this is the only thing I deceived you about; everything else is true.”
There was a slight wound on his lips, and as their lips met, Tong Sui let out a hiss.
He was then covered by Bai Xingluo’s gentle lips, tender and shallow, as if drowning him in such tenderness.
“…Luoluo, I want to know what you think.”
“I want to be with you forever.”
After that, the system was once again met with a face-full of mosaic as if avenged.
Numb.
I knew the host wouldn’t be ruthless!
This commotion continued until dawn broke on the horizon.
Bai Xingluo seemed unusually energetic today, clinging to him as if fearing that if he released his grip, he would disappear into thin air.
Tong Sui was exhausted, scarcely able to keep his eyes open, only to find Bai Xingluo still staring directly at him.
He mumbled drowsily, “What’s wrong?”
Bai Xingluo replied, “I want to know about your past.”
“Yeah,” Tong Sui slowly said with his remaining awareness, “It’s called Blue Star. In our beliefs, everyone is born equal, and there is no mental power. I’m very ordinary, just a student studying every day…”
He rambled on amidst scattered thoughts, lacking any clear logic, and gradually his voice grew quieter.
Bai Xingluo covered him with the quilt, gently kissing his forehead.
In truth, he had sensed early on that the Great Lord was completely different from those insectoids, but he hadn’t thought about the fact that Tong Sui might not belong to this world at all.
Though the lifespan of the insect race is longer than that of humans—averaging around two hundred years—it was still limited.
Bai Xingluo leaned against the headboard, with complex emotions swirling in his eyes.
He was too greedy; he wanted to be by the Great Lord’s side forever.
As dawn broke, Bai Xingluo remained awake through the night.
The next day.
When Tong Sui awoke, the bed beside him was already empty, and recalling what had happened last night, he sat up in a panic.
It wasn’t until the bathroom door opened and Bai Xingluo emerged that he let out a sigh of relief.
“Great Lord,” Bai Xingluo’s presence was refreshing and sharp; while Tong Sui was still dazed, he approached and exchanged a deep kiss with him.
Tong Sui found himself breathless from the kiss, blushing furiously as he glared at him.
Bai Xingluo still felt it wasn’t enough and leaned in once more.
